Dramarama "Anything, Anything (I'll Give You)" Live concert shots and press quotes video. Song featured in Nightmare on Elm Street 4 Most requested on KROQ
+hexagon523 It was amazing. I lived in Southern California in the 80s and got a chance to see the band several (10 to 15 times) over the years.... I always remember cruising down the 101 with Dramarama providing the background music
+hexagon523 you are awesome for thinking from that perspective :) i was in high school in the san francisco area and my friends and i would blast this song and sing it at the top of our lungs head bang in my car that whole year. just listening to it brings back some sweet summer memories. god... i feel like my parents when they were trying to explain being in the haight ashbury listening to the beatles albums the day they dropped! (double entendre ;) )
That's a cult classic in my opinion. But you're correct I don't consider it in the horror genre. I'd classify that as a thriller/action movie. But that movie did have an awesome soundtrack. Look, I know thriller and horror can be subjective depending on the person so I wouldn't knock someone else if they'd classify The Wraith as such.
1985/1986 was my senior year of high school in the Los Angeles suburbs and I used to listen to this song on radio station KROQ The Rock of the 80s. Dramarama is my favorite band of all time, and their Anything, Anything is still my favorite song of all time, though I feel for the pain John Easdale was going through when he wrote it. After hearing it on the radio a few times I hit up Tower Record for a copy of Cinéma Vérité on cassette. That was back when we actually had to buy physical copies of our music, kids. Years later I was working at as newspaper photographer and got sent on assignment to photograph Dramarama in concert at Six Flags Magic Mountain. I shot a lot of concerts at that venue over the years, and I can still hear Dramarama rocking in my memories louder than any other band I covered. Chuck Berry playing Johnny B. Goode live was a close second. Thank you, John, for turning your pain into something beautiful that we all could enjoy. I hope knowing the joy you gave to millions with this song in some way gave you comfort through a very difficult time in your life.
One of the best songs of the 80s, somehow encapsulated frustration/energy my generation was feeling, and a song that makes everyone in the room dance, still makes hairs rise on the neck, still so thrilling so many years later.
+Bran The Man Rocks fuck! im watchin it now and i just posted the same thing. goddam. i was a senior in high school. never heard this back then. so fun!
I met one of the band members on a flight from New York to LA in the very early 2000s. He told me he was in Dramarama, but the band name didn’t ring a bell for me. He then sang a bit of this song to me and I remembered it then (I’m from So Cal, so grew up on 106.7 KROQ). On the plane ride, he was writing music (music notes and everything). I wish I remember which band member it was, but I’m guessing it had to be John unless there was any other people in the band that wrote songs too? And I wish I got his autograph too! It’s all good, it was a great chat we had.
I'm here because of _VH1 Classic._ Stumbled across the video for this song back in 2011; it was love at first listen. I Shzamed the song and the rest is history.
🥲 I had this song in the back of my mind for ten years running. Drilled and etched into my mind. I heard it played on KROQ like two years ago and I missed out on seeing who played it. And finally I found it. It was from A Nightmare on elm street 4. 😂
Pure nostalgia for anyone who grew up as a teenager in LA during the 80's. I remember being at many a dance club and when this song was played everyone went absolutely nuts. The dead even danced. KROQ with Richard Blade, Jed the Fish, the Swedish Eagle and Rodney cranking out the tunes - the 80's graced us with some of the greatest music and bands in music history. LA in the 80's had a vast network of clubs where thousands of teens and 20 somethings would converge to meet and get their groove on. Who couldn't forget Marilyn's, Scream, Helter Skelter, Peanuts, Odyssey, Florentine Gardens, the Palace, Hot Traxx in Van Nuys, Club 21, 321 Club, Madame Wongs and all the others I'm forgetting? We didn't need no stinkin' internet.
I met this girl in 2007. We hung out. I bought soco and lime shots. Pulled out a 100 dollar bill. Other times i paid w 100 dollar bills. We would listen to this song and chuckle. Shes now my wife w 2 children. God Bless you if you're reading this.
@@TheDramarama thank you! Nowadays shes like where are those 100 dollar bills now? As we still chuckle. She has them all and I'm perfectly fine with that. Peace
Here in 2024! This song blew my mind the first time I heard it, back when 'Nightmare on Elm Street 4' came out. And still is in my playlists. Awesome energy! 🤘🤘
This is a band that never got it's complete due. Dramarama always seemed to be on the cusp of stardom, but they could never quite get over the hump (The Psychedelic Furs are another band in that category - great band that never quite got huge). This is one of Dramarama's most brilliant songs - the anger and urgency in the singer's voice are mirrored by the nagging, paranoid, two-note guitar riff. Just sheer rock brilliance. Check out "Last Cigarette" too - another great Dramarama song.
@@AnthonyHurtz I heard it on my school bus about 2 months ago, must've been KROQ radio. It played again about 2-3 weeks after that. I am aware that it did play in Nightmare On Elm Street 4(?) Idk, haven't watched it in a long time! Anyway, I HIGHLY suggest you check out their other songs too, or their albums Cinema Verite and Box Office Bomb.
Last time I saw the movie I was a little kid watching it on VHS.. had Dream Warriors, Dream Master and Puppet Master... My favorite VHS tape ever and it no longer works
