In my years of driving I have seen plywood sheets, extension ladders, dryers, stoves , and wheelbarrows drop on the highways . I always look ahead to see what poorly loaded crap could be coming my way
As a building contractor of many years im dismayed at how poorly and irresponsibly people tie down their loads . I see all kinds of materials tied down with one badly placed strap or none at all leaving lumber yards and jobsites.
Try the construction and gravel trucks that don’t cover and tie down small loose loads that damage cars and roads for miles and no one does anything about it not to mention those same vehicles in wrong lanes driving to begin with
@@GoonieLord I don't think this was debris. A spring on a trailer or truck broke and this got ejected. If it was just lying on the road, it would be nearly impossible for it to get launched like that. Just really bad luck.
😮 People ask why I don't ride my motorcycle, that much anymore on the major highways. If you on a motorcycle you would be dead. This gal is lucky and the windshield helped. Like she mentioned, please secure your stuff and be careful !!!!!!!
My sister was behind a pick-up truck when its bed liner flew out and hit her car. Thankfully, she was able to control her vehicle. She followed the truck off the freeway and to its destination so she could get the license plate number. I once saw one of those baby carriages that hook up to a bike in the middle of a busy Bay Area freeway. Crazy.
There's no way this kind of thing is going to get better. We have to live with the knowledge that it will definitely get worse because of the trajectory our world is on. It's primary cause is financial greed by the worst among us who now have the computer technology to greatly worsen their behavior.
She is so lucky. I would say she had a road angel riding with her that day. Just 6 years ago I was driving back home for St. Augustine, FL. I noticed a pickup ahead of me with 5-6 mattresses swaying. I moved over two lanes and sped past just as they began to fly pass down the hwy. If I had been 2-3 seconds further back I would have had to dodge all of these mattresses. Shalom
You do know that Google maps has a little option down there to report road hazards. At least it will show up if you’re using the app while you’re driving across the country. Also call 911 and tell them what lane and mile marker it is at so they can send someone out to remove it before it kills somebody.
I do window tint,I now recommend people tint their entire windshield because of reasons like this....the tint would've stopped the object or at least helped save a life...tint also helps with astigmatism..35% is what I recommend
Window tint on windshields is typically illegal, mainly because of the darkening effect. However, a ceramic 80% tint is virtually unnoticeable. It will block the heat better and contribute as a barrier to glass shards in a case like this metal object hitting the windshield.
People like Stew Pidd don’t seem to get why we secure loads. Saw a guy lose his smoker/bbq out of his boat July 5th. He must’ve been a little hungover. 😂
Like we don’t have enough to worry about between traffic and road rage incidents now we have to worry about being impaled by debris left on the highway!
Why isn’t debris on the shoulder of the roadways being collected daily. We pay enough in taxes for this to occur, and it would go a long way in terms of road safety!!!!
Here, in New Zealand, all vehicles must get a detailed, government approved, inspection carried out every six months for vehicles built before 2000, and every twelve months for vehicles built after that date. Vehicles are banned from the road if they don't have a current warrant of fitness.
Do the Gov't check cars if they have unsecured loaded materials in their car? This case is not about old or new cars, it's about people driving with unsecured plumbing or constructions materials, or trash in their cars that could fly off the air and cause accidents and injury to other motorists.
Debris in the air and potholes that would derail a tank if it was also going 65. Freeways/Highways are getting gnarly out here. But hey, we have Billions for the military so they can combat guys on laptops, so it’s a wash I guess 😊
driver are driving to fast not able to maneuver in time yet I see it every day while driving people's intentionally hit items in the road way so it can hit other cars....
If Utah would grow a spine and put officers back on patrol maybe people would not be driving 100mph on I-15 leaving garbage and talking on their phones while driving. Utah is taking a Donald Trump approach to driving. Everyone should be able todo whatever thay want. Thats not how a society works people have to make choices to help protect others. If your on your phone while driving or your speeding you need a ticket. Also the KSP studios are looking very old and blah. Put some of that media money back into your set.
I have seen something further under the sun, that the swift do not always win the race, nor do the mighty win the battle, nor do the wise always have the food, nor do the intelligent always have the riches, nor do those with knowledge always have success, because time and unexpected events overtake them all. Eccl 9:11. Tragedy can result by simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
