The hardest thing about drawing a vehicle is getting the perspective correct. This video explains how to get your wheels looking correct in two point perspective. This is the theory and you won't always have to construct it like this. With practice, you'll get a feel for what looks right and will be able to do it by eye.

Ian - Thanks for this. How you you know how wide (in the minor axis) to make the wheel?

Hi Dave, it's really a question of eyeballing it to see if it looks right, which takes a bit of practice. Knowing the theory shown in this video is helpful to though as it gives a starting point for your practice. I find turning the paper around, holding it up to the light and looking at the mirror image from the other side is often a good way of judging whether perspective looks right.

Great video! I can't find a ruler that has those 90 degree angle lines for ellipses. Any idea where I can get one?
