I subbed years ago. I remember when he went from playing series to first impressions. I didn't like the change at first, but I love seeing all the variety.
This looks like my kind of game, however it has tons of online PVP achievements. As an achievement hunter who usually never goes online because of time constraints and a personal disability I would never even be able to complete the game at a 100%. This looks like one I'll just find someone doing a full run thru and watch a Let's Play of. Thanks, Splat for bring my eyes to it tho. You the man!
That's a fairly solid tactical, the cards are a nice refreshing feature. The art style is pretty neat as well , good stuff. It has a lot to satisfy, thanks for going back to it Splatt'
I know you probably have other sources of income like monetisation from youtube, patreon, ect, but if they aren't already, some of these game developers should be paying you, man. You do such an incredible job with your videos and i've bought multiple games that I would never have heard of if it weren't for your channel. Kudos to you!
Ok.... I'm a bigtime Tactical Turn-Based gamer... It's by far my favorite style of gameplay. My favorite games in the genre would be the likes of Jagged Alliance 2 (and all of it's derivatives, clones, mods, etc..) and X-Com Apocalypse. I feel they were the culmination of Tactical Turn-Based Strategy games... offering you IMMENSE choice and strategy in the way you took on the enemy. The amount of choice you had EVERY single turn for each and every single character was awesome, giving you a very flexible approach and yet, they were difficult games. After the XCom remake and it's two-step turns (simplified for using a controller on consoles) it seems everyone forgot the real strength of Turn-Based Squad games and copied that style. I'm really tired of this system, it's overly simplified in a genre that already gives you time to evaluate and work on every turn. Cookie-cutter.... I hate being one that says old-school was better... but old-school Tactical Turn-Based games were MUCH better.
I want to see a mechanic where you can set guards and patrolls and the ai could attack your camp. While patrolls would prevent low level enemies from taking stuff ( here I'd like to add to put stuff out on the map, mines or other resource stuff) that the ai would take. At least to try it. With patrolls being out on patroll you'd have a chance to receive backup in case of need. This could add another layer since you could be ambushed by more stuff. Sadly this is only a mission based game but as soon as I've seen it I want these in it!
Troubleshooter is awesome, I deliberated whether to get this or that, choose Troubleshooter, and man, it's stellar! You probably already did a video on that one I guess.
@@sithious3 I seem to remember reading it simply didn't sell, and Fatshark is busy with Warhammer now foe good or ill. Hope those GW monies lead to another more polished Krater game 😃
There are two problems with this game. 1 - Every map is generated the same. It gets boring quick. There are a few different skins used for level generation, but it's the same randomised layout. The same layout generation seems to be used for all maps. And it's not a sophisticated generation. It seems to just be a simple one pass scatter placement of obstacles. 2 - RNG is the most important 'skill' in the game. Any strategy is completely overpowered by random luck. Hit chances tend to be low, meaning the game has a high variance. So the best moves can still fail, and the worst moves can still succeed. The most important factor is your luck.
Oh no, is this just another Mutant Year Zero universe game? That was a pretty cool game but much too shallow and simple overall. It needed much more than just quirky characters and a decent tactical combat engine.
Gota say , de indie "industry" is releasing really interessing games ... Thanks for showing us so many "hinden" interessing games. P.S. : My wallet is not hapy with you .
How's the cover system? Because these "x-com" games SUCK at cover. You'll be standing behind a concrete wall, full shield - and receive 80% damage in most of these games. Hence why I gave up on them long ago.
You gotta watch out for the friends of the friend to enemy's friend's girlfriends. Those chicks always be about gossip, bro. Gossip can get your ass killed.
26:51 Looks like another dev using weighted rolls/shitty mob abilities to make combat more deadly as opposed to good AI. O yeah it's the RNG lol. Whatever. EDIT: Thanks for showing us this game splatty, now I know not to buy. Too bad as it looks like something I would play.
