agreed. like a nice 6 inches taller screen would be great. i dont want just a giant tv where you have to move your head side to side and up and down, but just a bit more height would go a long ways at 49 or 57". also a lot more pixels to run of course but that may or may not matter so much depending on usage. i mainly want a slightly taller 57" for work. i want more screen space without bezels of any sort for large spreadsheets i work with. dont need 300hz ultra 8k 1,000 fps game play, just huge spreadsheets.
Just bought it for $1299, the version without the Hub, which would never use, as my LG C1 48" is my 2nd monitor/tv in my room. For the $1299, it's a steal and an upgrade from my regular Odyssey G9, which I will bring to use at my work office now to replace my vertical 21:9 dual stacks, which was killing my neck looking up at the top monitor.
Also of note for these, the text clarity is a lot better. While still not perfect, it's far superior to my 42inch C2/PG42UQ. The majority of the fringing I used to notice on the aforementioned displays is gone on the G95SCs.
Did they change the subpixel layout or something??? Nvm it still has text fringing looking into it and its about the same as before. Don't get why people lie after buying a product, like do you really need to justify it???
@@lilpain1997 First of all, I own 2 of these and on both of them the text clearer than the other two I mentioned and actually own. Be careful calling someone a liar when they know more than you.
Hold on bro. I'm typing this on my PG42UQ. (I have the G9 and G9 OLED in the other room) The text clarity is exactly the same from where I'm sitting. The G9 OLED is just fast. You can definitely feel the difference. but for gaming I still prefer the PG42UQ (ASUS 42 inch for those who don't know) The G9 OLED is hooked up to my macs for work. I have a strange setup with slack/email, notes,/todo, VS code, Chrome, sql developer with vs code in the center
@@vicariousvindicator7545 I don't care if you own two of them. If the sub pixel layout is the same nothing has changed. From looking around online it's the same... And there are far more people saying text clarity is the same as well. Infact you are the only person claiming it's different. So no, I won't stop calling out bs unless you prove its better or someone else does. I will literally buy one to compare to my AW3423DW just to see. I'll send the thing back straight after as super ultrawide is a huge no for me
@lilpain1997 I really don't give a damn what you think. You're free to disagree. I can't talk you through bad vision. To me the text clarity is better and I actually own the other screens with the bad text fringing. If that's too hard for you to understand then it's not my problem. Go figure your own shit out before looking for fights online.
Bought one. Massive upgrade once the settings are optimized. For those with older graphics cards, i tested on a 1070 and was able to get full resolution but only with 8 bit dithering and 120hz. Dropping to 60hz allowed me to get to 10 bit color. On a 7900xtx no limitations whatsoever--biggest decision is what cable to use--HDMI will allow 12 bit color. However, the screen is only 10bit so its really a wash.
the display guy is AWESOME! the only con about this 49 qd-oled is a VERY aggresive abl settings in the HDR mode. if they release 34 -27 inch qd-oled and will make hdr true black 500 mode with 300full white - 500 nits max abl -this would be a perfect display
My only GRIPE with OLED monitors, right now, is the lack of black frame insertion. MOST OLED TV's have it. You enable BFI (Sony is MotionFlow, LG is TruMotion) and you essentially double your visual fidelity. So the Sony A8H I have, at 60hz, with BFI enabled, is akin to having native 120hz. LG has 60hz and 120hz TV OLED, the 60hz with TruMotion looks like 120hz and the 120hz with it looks like 240hz. The only downside? that isn't comparing to CRT.... because 60hz CRT would be akin to native 1000hz LCD in terms of motion clarity (and only motion clarity, not actual smoothness). I have the AW3423DW. So far, 3000+ hours and no burn in. When it asks to do a hard refresh, I let it. And every night I turn it off which runs the soft refresh before actually powering off. Its been absolutely a great monitor. Love it! BUT, it doesn't have black frame insertion. IF I can get 1440p 240hz + BFI or 4k 240hz + BFI I will switch asap.... BFI is god mode for FPS shooters with OLED. On LCD it doesn't really mater because pixel response isn't fast enough to match refresh rate. Example, Asus 360hz means each 1hz changes at a rate of 2.7ms but pixel response (full start to stop, not rise/fall) is around 5.8ms average.... 5.8ms average pixel response means average refresh rate quality of 172.41hz.... the only panel with fast enough pixel response for 240hz+ is OLED. a native 360hz OLED would be insane quality over typical LCD 360hz....
lets stop comparing 27 inch equivalent monitors with 40-55 inch TV’s please. And yes I said 27 bc the 49 inch G9 is simply dual side by side 27 inch 1440p monitors fused together. These need to be reviewed against other desk worthy options for mixed use (some productivity, some gaming, etc). I have a 24 inch deep desk and even the 42 inch LG C2 OLED is too big IMO. I think 32 is the sweet spot for most desks. Sure, if I was only gaming from a distance then some of the larger OLEDs are a no brainer. But the second we talk about desktop use in mixed scenarios I have to think about potential burn-in, text fringing, and low brightness if in a bright room (say using for work during the day in a room with windows).
Problem with Samsung products is Samsung customer service. I bought 2 odyssey g9 and one was doa. Took 3 months and 6 phone calls to get a refund. same problem with Samsung appliances. A quick search shows multi class action lawsuits. Love their products but just remember there is no customer service if it’s defective. I wouldn’t gamble on them. Better to stick with companies that care about the customer
I have one and I went from playing 4k and I have to say it's nearly as good. I'm actually really surprised how good this monitor looks compared to my 4k asus.
I wonder if there's a difference for desktop vs tv implementation cuz on my s95b I keep contrast enhancer on low, it just genuinely looks better than off.
Can this monitor be partitioned into 3 parts so that the center part is the same as a regular 27 inch 16:9 monitor and then on right side i could have like discord and left side a youtube video or Twitch chat set up?
You can use Microsoft power toys with a function called ‘Fancy Zones’ to do this. Can split it into any number and size segments you want, and just hold shift to drag and drop a window into that. Not entirely sure how/if it works with games as I use it for work but worth a google
No, my eyes are very sensitve to bright lights. My monitor is at like 30% if I recall correctly and my phone is at like 5% or less. If you have a Samsung phone, I keep it at about half of the sun symbol on the brightness slider.
Nobody ask for this! 32:9 is very unpratical, it's bad enough there are still games that don't support 21:9, 32:9 is even more niche! At least 21:9 is the sweet spot, because of movies that are made in that aspect ratio. My dream monitor would be a 38" 5120x2160 21:9 version of this monitor!
That's absolutely... silly. That, plus a 4090, plus 13900k, plus all the rest of it... I'd rather have property for the same money, but others will be happy with this in a cheap rental room with leaky pipes and a bad smell, or letting their family live on a starvation diet. For Nvidia shareholders, well, you guys can afford whatever you like these days from your dividends.
You are a scammer, windows wont let you take a screen shot of the error code when activating the key. and CDKdeals require me to send two screen shots, one your system version, there term, what ever that is. and the other is a screen shot of activation key and error. like I said windows wont let you take a screen shot of the key and error message, so this is just a scam. I wont be supporting your videos any more.
