They’re not pretending to be characters they’re not on the SMP, they’re only exaggerating and making things more dramatic in a very extended bit, in a way, so it would make sense that they’d act like themselves, since there isn’t actually a specific character they’re trying to play other than a more entertaining version of themselves. I hate to be that guy, but Techno was intending on just killing Tubbo, because of peer pressure. He killed Schlatt and Quackity completely by accident, then decided "screw it" and blew up the whole crowd in the meantime. So technically, although Techno did kill the enemy, he wasn't even trying to. His intended target was an ally. Also it was really just Tommy who got mad because Tubbo is like a brother to him. He got over it pretty fast too.
