Yeah thats true.. Sachin averaged 55.3 in Australia between 1999 and 2004 in Australia. Remember I'm only talking about his average in Australia with that MCG ton back in 99, his famous SCG masterclass and a couple of 50s and not his stellar record in 1998-99 home series which include that Chennai hundred followed by a masterpiece on a dust bowl in Benguluru, the 2001(Eden Garden) series and his famous duels with Warne. I see no point in SRT's exclusion from the XI. Also I'd have preferred Rahul Dravid over Brian Charles Lara. With Lara averaging 41, I think Dravid must be averaging clearly more than him if we bank his selection on 2 tours of 1999 and 2003 that are basically his only 2 tours when Steve Waugh was Australia's captain. Laxman was on fire in Australia when Waugh captained Oz. He made is debut in the last SCG test and made a sublime ton in the 2nd innings, 167* in 191 balls to be specific. He tried very hard on a Day 5 SCG pitch to earn India a win but eventually ran out of partners. And talking about 2003, 559 runs in the series with a hundred at Adelaide to assist Rahul Dravid and a hundred at Sydney again to support Tendulkar sums up his efforts. Statistically, 776 runs in 9 innings at an a mind boggling average of 90.52 is Bradmanesque in itself.. Thats all.

There was no South Africa when West Indies were playing, India,England, Sri Lanka were trash cricket sides who improved immensely in the noughties and teams like Bangladesh and Zimbabwe also became test nations while the only side really to decline marginally was Pakistan. @@kunalsingh3121 apart from Bradman himself, the 1948 team had Keith Miller (one of the top 6 all rounders ever), Arthur Morris (one of the greatest openers), Ray Lindwall (one of the greatest quicks), Don Tallon (maybe the greatest keeper ever). It destroyed India, south africa and new zealand and made England look like bunnies even though they were a fairly strong team themselves. I have no doubt that the 1948 Aussies were the greatest cricket outfit to line up on field.
