At perth and Johannesburg we played with all pace attack. In 3 of those 9 games, arguably he performed superbly. The first test matches against each of Eng,SA and Aus. If a guy performs good once in 3 matches he plays, there must be everything good about him. Also, needless to say, whatever contributions he makes with bat are underrated, like being top scorer for India in that horrendous test match no. 2 of England tour and also in tests against SA. And be honest, he is not MEANT to be the top bowler in overseas tours, his job is to bowl long spells at good economy to keep pacers afresh all day for their short spells, which he undoubtedly does best.

Except SA, Latham has scored atleast 50s if not 100s as compared to other openers. Has 3 hundreds in total in UAE and SL. Kane has 19 out of 21 test centuries have come at No. 3. Average of 58.31 at home and 45.58 away. Smith has done well at both 3 but has dominated more at 4. Kohli has scored almost everywhere. Kohli and Smith can swap places as both are good and versatile. Stokes has won matches with both bat and ball. While batting, besides UAE he averages above 30 everywhere else. And besides NZ, he has a bowling average of around 30. Besides Aus and Ind, Watling’s record at home and away is very good. Slightly tipped De kock for experience and ability to bat long if needed Bowlers just pick themsleves Besides NZ, Bumrah has 5 wicket hauls in SA, Aus, Eng, WI. So he makes it. Lyon has taken wickets all over the globe. Wagner is my 3rd seamer as he has the ability to bowl 10 over spells and keep run rate in check when the ball gets old. Jadeja makes it if pitch is spinning one and for his fielding
According to ESPN there is only one cricket playing nation that is india.others are just there to help india while comparing to them. There is no legend like Ponting, lara, gilchrest, sanga,kallis,inzi but tendulkar,dravid,ganguly and even dhoni and laxman are more than a legend. Similarly doesn't matter how well N Lyon, labushagne,and babar azam are they will only pick indians. It make no sense to include rohit sharma in test 11 ahead of Warner or latham. Rohit is excellent in odi but in test cricket he has done nothing except one good series in home conditions.Also N Lyon is equally good in home and away unlike ashwin who even don't make it to the indian 11 when playing away. Why not Warner?can't understand.
