I love how JM heads upstairs and opens the door to drown out his speech. Even after so many years in such a prolific band, he’s still so private and shrouded in mystery.
I've thought the same thing before! I saw him on the most recent G3 tour and, when speaking to the audience between songs, you would swear he was actually a little awkward, maybe even a bit uncomfortable! It was really striking I'm contrast to such a mind-blowing musical perfomance. He certainly didn't have the usual kind of attitude or whatever you expect from a guy who has spent most of his life playing bombastic music in massive venues all over the planet, which isn't a bad thing.
I got to meet Jordan Rudis in 2013 at a guitar show in Austin Texas, really nice guy took the time to talk to me even took a selfie with me, and he even took a selfie with my niece and gave her an autograph awesome musician and a class act dream theater rocks
Mangini cracks me up lol seems like a positive funny guy. Amazing drumming chops love his work with DT. (All I've heard of his). I also love red wine Mike! Who doesn't?
James is so charismatic, he looks so powerful, a Prog Icon, I love him ( Sorry for his haters, but hey, try to sing the easiest DT song, and you'll see how stupid your opinion abt him is )
Its very cool that such a talented guitar player lists Rush as his favorite band. You hear that all the time from bass players, but not that often from guitar players. Nice Job John!
@@MyRealName No. I'm just open to the fact that musically, he is good at what he does and so are the guys in DT, so together they could make cool music. So many fans of this type of music are hell bent on having it their way or not. I am first a musician, so musically, it would be cool, probably, really cool. As with everything, this is my opinion. You are entitled to yours and we are supposed to be okay with our opinions being opposite to each other.
I don't think the interviewer is "dead inside" or "not care about the band". I think he's just professional - he asks the questions that are on the sheet, it's his job. You can hear his laugh after some of the members' answers.
John Myung is not a conversationalist. I got to chat with him for about a half an hour at our kids' school function and it felt like I was trying to have a conversation with a 15-year-old.

Mangini’s a PRO. Just hearing him talk about his technique alone is inspiring and he’s a really nice dude. Heck, all of these dudes are super cool and they know what they’re talking about and they are a loyal band, same for the rest of the proggers out there.
Best Part: Petrucci jokes about the gym and the interviewer doesn't even laugh and just moves on to the next question and Petrucci says, "Hmmm." It was as if saying, "Hmmm....maybe this interviewer is a stuffed shirt."
These interview questions sound like account recovery questions. It's almost like after this video you can recover the account to any dream theater member on any website.

Thanks guys, the fact how i can enforce to be myself and let my personality can take place, can be combined that you also can go normally further and have fun. I am sure enough that if my grace for my personality and right opportunities with my girl Emma for both sides comes, then the rest will also run better. Since after I finished the related perspective of my personal music revolution from August 12, 2018, moments that played that I thought I would rather not have achieved the related perspective of my personal music revolution than the way it went, but by beating hard against my isolation by my opponents, another conclusion suddenly came. Great walkthru and questions. Love to see that the masters of Prog (RUSH) got 2 shout outs from John P and John M for Rush - Hemispheres and Geddy Lee!! RUSH was the band that started it all for me and was my fave prog rock band. I started learning guitar because of Alex Lifeson. Now DT is my fave prog band. And because of Rush and DT my music collection has just exploded over the years. I listed to metal, jazs, blues, rock, prog, etc. Hey that big clock you guys have in that kitchenette is the EXACT same one we have here in our living room! haahhhaah Keep it up. cant wait for the new CD and to see you live here in So. I dig the fact that JP poured a little bit of bourbon! As much as I love MP his AA situation made the other guys seem to be stifled and unable to relax with a beer or whatever. I’ve struggled with things before but I never wanted others to feel like they couldn’t enjoy something they loved. When Mangini first joined they had a video of them at dinner and he was having a sexy ass glass of red wine and it was cool to see that the MP AA thing had gone away! I still love MP..... ROCK JUICE......Rock Jews!!!
