As a Pink Floyd fan, I cannot deny that these two incredible bands did this song justice, I see a lot of comments saying that it was horrible, I really strongly disagree, it took these amazing musicians to cover such a complex song, and they did it very well!!!
I was ok in the beginning as a mega floyd fan I was pleased they kept to the integrity of the song...but listen carefully to the singer...the long haired one.......if they are going to do a Pink Floyd tune, they best know the lyrics...they f-ked up the lyrics ....
Hey, I was at this show! Or at least one of them. In Wilmington, DE. Partied with Geoff and Fates Warning after the show. Will never for get that! Was there with my whole band.
James Labrie 1:54 did a mistake " Now I got the feeling once again , I can't explain this is not how I am , zkkhzkzbkrtlnrlntlkze I aaaaaaaam " hahah Gotta love James labrie, i love you dude :D
at the beginning of the performance I was reading the comments. A lot of misguided fanaticism around or what? this is an interpretation made by great musicians, although you are not as good as them (and this is quite improbable to be true, because there are just a bunch of musicians at this level in the world) think of what you write. If the only idea of a variation of the original kills you, do not listen to any cover or live version -neither to Roger on tour, of course. Gosh.
+SammieDavidDeLuce Rush are gods and we all appreciate your opinion, but you are just watching two bands covering the greatest band in history of not only rock, but in history of music......
maybe its not controllable? me cant even controll my face when playing hard things for me with guitar... its music ur listening music not watchin his face lolss :D
Sorry, I wasn't talking about the face he makes, just an expression bcz I can't think of the guy's name. Just saying that when he messes up the lyrics, I practically go insane! LOL
+axlrosea675 Wilton clearly flubbed multiple times on the middle solo. For the simplicity of it, it is actually not an easy one to pull off. And who is playing off camera? the closing licks? was Degarma on this tour? You actually hear him, and not Wilton standing with Petrucci.
+David stone Mike Stone was the other guitarist at the time; too bad DeGarmo wasn't there... out of all the QR members, he was probably the one most influenced by Pink Floyd.
If you can't handle the complexity of Comfortably Numb don't do it as it'll only make it look like you can't play. Both Dream Theather n' Queensryche can play otherwise but they fail miserably at this one. Bad move...
Saw this tour in Hollywood! Sooo kick ass! They did four songs together: Comfortably Numb, Take Hold Of The Flame, Peruvian Skies, and Won't Get Fooled Again! Both bands and James/Geoff singing on stage together! My favorite concert encore...ever!
I remember I saw them together at the Universal Amphitheatre (Gibson Theater ) or whatever the hell they call it now. It was awesome. Their cover of this was my strongest memory from that show and didn't even know they released a video of it until this moment, nearly 13 years later.
I got goosebumps... Micheal Wilton (Queensryche guitarist) looks like he had his brother died since Chris DeGarmo's departure from the band, and it feels like he is really enjoying John Petrucci's company here. Geoff Tate is probably the most underrated but most talented rock-metal singer of all time, maybe after Freddie Mercury. James LaBrie shines when it comes to mellow songs (just listen to Wait for Sleep). Great musicians, great bands, great song, great music. God bless them all.
