Is there a better american rock band than Dream Theater? I don,t think so. They have it all. Great vocals, great songwriting and some of the best chops in all of music.
No, it's not deep, it's very cliche and simple. Take away the elementary singing and the song is okay. Not something to write home about. Very Very simple.
Lyrically this song is not deep, and very simple. Beats aren't deep dum dum. Also, DURRR of course if you're a fan you're going to respect their music. You see here Rob, there is a serious problem in this world, that problem is that there are too many stupid people. If this song, which is about as deep as a mud puddle on the sidewalk is what you find to be deep. You are just part of the problem. People are consumed with themselves and only themselves, so much to the point that they view shit like this as deep. You know what's deep? Recognizing the turmoil the world is in and how we can alleviate the problems of the world. Not selfish meaningless garbage like the lyrics of this song. That's why I criticized this comment. Jose has captured the mood and musicality of the composition and the resulting video belies an innate sense of timing and a feel for the subject matter which grafts sublimely onto the audio track. A masterly interpretation and more importantly, a fitting tribute to the band's musical presentation..
I absolutely agree. I was traveling for work when I started listening to this album, so visiting new places, the views from the sky, etc. all heightened my enjoyment of this song at the time, and the video captures it perfectly.
Divine song...Divine pictures....Dream Theatre show us that they are not without inspiration !....It seems that it's on the contrary !...and after 30 years of making awsome music they keep the best for these days...and maybe again later.....A band of genius....John is a wonderful melodist...since always but here it's awsome !....Sooooooo excelent !!!!!!

Petrucci's lyrics always seem to reach my heart... I love how Jordan and Petrucci wrote this song, maybe that's why I loved the so hated The Astonishing! DT manages to make simple and perhaps cheesy songs into beautiful pieces of music that fills the soul! DT is a gift divine indeed.

honestly, when i listen to dream theater, i imagine vast landscapes of nature. specifically like im flying over huge mountains with shimmering white ice caps, against the crystal blue sky. idk why, but this video just materializes those visions. love it!

Dream Theater has taken the prog route - sadly not that many people are drawn to often long, highly complex songs played across multiple time signatures. That and the fact that many people do not realize DT actually does write some relatively accessible music here and there, as well as stunningly gorgeous, heart wrenching ballads like this particular masterpiece.
Despite the fact that I dont be a videomaker or something look like this I think that this guy have made a absolutely perfect job!! I'm sure that professionals videomakers couldnt had make something better than this! Congratulations!

DEFINITELY THE BEST VIDEO OF ALL TIME! I don't care what anyone says. The video went with the song perfectly. It had a tremendous emotional impact on me. In the same way that Purcell's Chaconne in Gm, Mozart's Ave Verum Corpus, Kate Bush's This Woman's Work, and Nilsson's Without You touch some trigger which never fails to overwhelm me with uncontrollable sadness, and a echoing hollow feeling at the thought of any single person's struggle against indubitable Mortality, this song offers some resolution to that grief, and instills a crescendo of hope into the listener's mind, with tinct of shaded sadness and emptiness of what will face each and every person at the very end. I have already picked this out as my funereal goodbye, simply because it ticks all my lifelong musicality boxes and leaves a sticky reminder of Man's frailty, and ultimately, a shaft of light, as Hope for those to come next.
This is the music! And I personally think that, if the guys from Dream Theater will ever decide to make a video for this song, well, this should definitely be the video. Many thanks to Dream Theater and also to JFL for this!
