Thank you Portnoy for writing this amazing song. I quoted some of the lyrics to this when doing the eulogy at my dads service. We lost him to cancer 3yrs ago today. Cheers to anyone who's ever lost someone close to them.

Lost my dad in 2009 and this song is such a great way of remembering him by. Just hope my 4 kids (Two daughters and two sons) will think of me the same way when I go❤
My Grandfather just past away about a week ago. He was more of a father figure to me than my adoptive father ever was. He lead me through so many hardships and gave me the tough advice when I needed it. This song voices exactly how I felt and now that he's gone I just feel a little lost a little vulnerable and afraid.

There's something about a good song that makes it's listener take it as their own. Our stories are all different but the memories are still brought back by hearing this. This was my go to catharsis up to the day I lost my dad, and now I listen to bring back our cabin days and day trips. I just shared this with a friend who is also losing his father to cancer at the moment.
This is indeed a great song and resonates with many of us because it is authentic to its core. I decided not to listen to this till my dad passed away and wished that day never would come, alas disappointed and saddened to note that day arrived recently.
