I think lucifer here knows that despair is the opposite of hope, yet he himself relies on hope to regain his lost glory and is unable to utter the opposite of hope and concedes to dream. Brilliant film-making.
Lucifer: Hope... Morpheus: Well Lightbringer, what kills hope..? Lucifer: I..... Morpheus: Nooo... Lucifer: ... Am.... Morpheus: No no noooo... Lucifer: The Game! Morpheus: *FFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU--!!!!*
My fav battle of wits. They are so powerful they battled with mortal concepts. Like i don’t think ppl understand how highly powerful you have to be to be able to fight in this sort of context x
The point is nothing can truly destroy hope. Lucifer has created the bottomless pit into which all things must eventually be dragged into, a realm of endless torment, and yet hope for a return to grace is, in fact, the Only thing that survives down there.
@@blazerunner5666 So no daemon have a desire to destroy Grace, to destroy Heaven? Like not a single one, like not to even to conquer heaven or take Grace/Gods throne. Sure some could wish for freedom from hell. But people are good at adapting, some people even enjoy pain. I would guess some might even like hell, after a 100 years ore so. But even so they were comparing things in the Universe agents one another. Not their own individual power, In the waste expanse of the universe nothing stays the same for ever, and everything eventually disperse. Even empty space seam to eventually be filled with something before it returns to nothing. Hope comes and goes like everything else
@@HeMyNo Why do you actually think Lucifer is so obsessed with taking Heaven, tearing it down, destroying it? They loathe the fact that there is still a power over them, a power that not even they can quench, and that power is undeniably hope. Nothing that Lucifer could do would ever remove the *possibility* of redemption, that God could come down from Heaven to rescue them. Some people might give up, but over the course of eternity something will happen to return that hope. It's a fundamental part of the human condition, we're always yearning and you can't take that from a person ever.
@@blazerunner5666 Yea, but I am not arguing that Lucifer is smart or something she is clearly a idiot. But Hope trumping everything else in the universe docent make sense to me. Hope is great, and helps us strive for something. But it does not for instance stop Decay. Decay slowly chips away at everything, you can rebuild, polis, mend and hope for something to last. But eventually it will wither away. In this show the so called Eternals can die and fade away. I mean sure Hope could defeat hell or demons. But to throw hope into the Universe and expect it to win. Seams arrogant, the universe does not follow our rules, wee follow its. We were only born because its rules allowed us to
@@HeMyNo trying to apply Real World logic to a comic book tv show... let alone one inspired by the works of Neil Gaiman. Friend I applaud the effort but why do it? The real world is cruel no one doubts that, that why we have stories were good triumps and evil is sent packing back to it's slimy hole. The reality of it s that evil usually wins, but that does not mean you stop fighting, and stories can fuel that fight. Leave the real world out it and let the story be just that, a story.
