My DC bias is whoever is currently on the screen. You are pretty spot on with what is going on in the MV. It’s very similar to the horror movie Us, even the choreographer mentioned that some of the choreo is inspired by that movie.

Dreamcatcher themselves said that the BE is capitalized to represent the Chinese character for Sad, and that the dance move the moment they sing BE also makes them look like the Chinese character for Sad with their fingers making 3 prongs on either side, it's really detailed in that way, also making the title have a deeper meaning like Sad (BE) cause I like you or The cause of my sadness is liking you

Yay! DC! I haven't yet been able to see any of your DC reactions, but I enjoy them a lot. My favorite western music group is Paramore, and DC reminds me a lot of the kpop equivalent to Paramore. DC is not a group that I would associate with "summer vibes bop", but this is like THEIR version of that and I really really like it. I think your doppelganger theory is really solid. My bias in DC is Handong, followed by Dami! Have you ever watched their variety show "Dreamcatcher Mind"? It's really fun and you may enjoy watching it! Lots of loud chaos.

Well, well, well. Hi there! Dreamcatcher are outdoing themselves here once again. Musically, the song is a fantastic journey. There actually are "cute" parts, but there also are parts where the guitars go full metal. The variations in BEcause remind me of their previous masterpiece, Deja Vu. The bridge with SuA's slow rap and Yoohyeon's adlibs is possibly the most beautiful one they have ever done. About the meaning: According to Dami, BEcause is about love becoming obsession. And also, this is a stand-alone story. They go back to their horror roots, which I really enjoy. One commenter noted that if you look at "BE" as a written Chinese character "悲“, that would mean "sadness". So the song title would mean "The Cause of Sadness". And that would make the lyric "because I like you" to maybe mean "the cause of sadness is I like you". That commenter is Jad Hamizan and he deserves all the credit for noticing that. The video picks up on that. JiU seems to be the puppet master here (or her doppelganger!). She is the one trapping the other members and turning them into puppets, but Gahyeon tries to escape (as you can see by her throwing off the cage right in the beginning). It seems JiU catches her again though, "because she likes her". The lyrics are even creepier. SuA sings: "Your expression is blue, blue. Your face is like ocean view.", hinting at strangulation due to the one being obsessed taking things way, way too far. If you want to find a connection to the Dystopia trilogy, you could say that this might be a criticism of overly obsessive fans, who turn to malicious comments and other bad things, but I am not sure about that. In any case, Dreamcatcher are clearly not afraid to tackle the difficult subjects, and they do it masterfully here - again. For me, this is more than just pop, it is art.
