Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 Endless Night is almost their heaviest release. It's about them being Minx before they became Dreamcatcher (I think), and about being persistent and believing in your dreams. And you followed that up with their heaviest release. 😉 Both Endless Night and No More are Japanese releases, which tend to be heavier. Unfortunately there is no real MV because of the pandemic. Pontus Norgren from the Scandinavian power metal band Hammerfall performed the guitar solo here and participated in the writing of the song. Yes, I'm a metalhead, is it showing? 😉 Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt and a burning at the stake. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. I really enjoy the music, it's rock mixed with EDM. Dreamcatcher are always very creative, and they are in their own genre by this point. Part 2 is Boca and part 3 is Odd Eye, seems like a logical progression. 😉

The rap parts in No More were done by Gahyeon (the maknae) and Dami (your fav in Endless Night). Gahyeon did it until the line "comment of ruder". The rest was Dami :)
Dreamcatcher has one of the best discography , to please everyone, main genre rock in any variant and also ballads, city pop, EDM, moombahton, reggae rhythm, trap, pop, funk, trance, jazz and more...and now that they all ventured into their own solos where they participated in the composition, arrangements and production.... and to the happiness of insomnia they all renewed their contracts ahead of time... a lot of future
Welcome to the dreamworld. Since you've seen them live, you know how awesome their performances are. Rock/metal genre in kpop is quite rare, especially in the mainstream kpop. As a matter of fact, they are the first kpop girlgroup idol brought this genre, and combine it with dark concept and a storyline about nightmares (fun fact, their debut date was actually Friday the 13th, January 2017). That was a bold gamble for a mid-sized entertainment company, but they steadily getting more recognition each year, and in May 20 this year they finally get their first win on a Korean weekly music show which is kinda the first goal of every idol in Korea. Currently they have 3 main arcs/storyline: Nightmare arc (7 singles/mini albums), Dystopia arc (1 full album & 2 mini), and ongoing Apocalypse arc (1 full album & 1 mini, probably the next one also mini). They also have 2 singles for collaboration with game companies, 1 Japanese anime OST, 1 special summer EP, and 2 anniversary singles. They also made specials clips for some b-side tracks, also MVs for their individual solo songs (in which written/composed by each respective member). So if you are interested to know more about them, you'll have tons of content. In these 3 songs, one member (Handong), was absent since she was in China for an idol survival show and stuck there because of the pandemic for a year.
Wow! I hope they get more recoginition like they deserve it. Their style is completely different and draws you in, so I hope people can tell how special they are! Even though I only heard those songs so far, I am so excited to see their full potential!

This album is regarded by many Insomnia (fandom name) as Dreamcatcher's best album. Dreamcatcher didn't have much popularity in Korea, but InSomnias are crazy about their unique sound.

Since you've seen Scream you should go ahead and finish up the Dystopia trilogy next with Boca and Odd Eye. Also as others have mentioned, Dreamcatchers albums are great. Their discography has a lot of variation and they explore many different genres including Reggae, Jazz, EDM, R&B, and much more.

Whoever recommended the Japanese tracks...his was a pretty bold move. 😂 I like them too in particular "Don't light my fire" (including the instrumental version) from the Eclipse album (Note: That track is not included on all versions of the album!).
Dreamcatcher is really the best group one can find. They are all 7 all rounder ace, all got crazy vocal & all can rap, dance, visual, you name it. On top of that they got amazing personality & their company cares about them and give them enough freedom. If they were in one of those top three companies, they would be like the biggest girl band in the world like 2 years ago already. Also Endless Night was in Japanese.

Welcome to the dreamworld. You checked out more of their “harder” stuff first. They do so many different genres but their titles tracks tend to be more metal inspired and their Japanese releases are very metal. Their b -sides contain everything.

welcome to the dreamcatcher world. as a fan from the first hour i am always surprised about the songs. there was a group before dreamcatcher, but personally i think dreamcatcher fits the 5 members that were in the group much better than MINX although it was cool when they did love shake again. even handong and Gahyeon who weren't in the opening group were really cute in the performance.🙂

From the amount of Dreamcatcher face™during Scream I agree Boca, Odd Eye, BEcause should be next (BEcause is a stand alone song at the same level). History note: five members started as a cute group doing songs about liking boys but failed and redebuted as Dreamcatcher. Endless Night is about themselves pushing through those bad times never giving up on their dreams, "getting one more chance/at the end of despair I seized the future/I won't let it go". After their famous intensity, they surprise you with the quality of their happy songs and emotional ballads. After that they surprise you with how cute, wholesome, and funny they are in regular life. Buckle up.
I don't know if you hear the other parts of Dystopia (Boca and Odd Eye), but in part 2 the focus in the first thing you saw and Scream (saying bad things), and the part 3 is about what you talked about the mask. Congrats if you deduce it by only Scream video!! ^^ And welcome to our dream world

Yeah, whoever recommended you start with Endless Night and No More we’re doing you a disservice unless they explained that those were Japanese releases and not their typical sound. These two songs kick ass but should not be any potential Somnies introduction. EDIT TO ADD: Whenever you see a Korean word in English and there is an S followed by an I it’s pronounced “she”. So Siyeon is pronounced SHE-yon.
Didn't really like the first two songs of their japanese releases , i prefer eclipse and i miss you japanese wise . Tho if u really wanna get into DC and react to their title tracks, the first series is the nightmare series ,it has a chronical release order from chase me which is the debut song to the last title song which is piri: the end of the nightmare , but story wise it goes Fly high , you and i ,what , piri , chase me, good night . If u go by this order ,All these title tracks of each album convey a meaning to the story of the nightmare series .
