It feels good to be back ☺️ Seeing the glacier and what’s left filled me both with sadness and hope. I’d like to believe we can still make a positive difference and keep these beautiful spaces.
Thank you for filming & sharing these! I just hiked parts of the Via Alpina for the first time (2 weeks ago) & your peaceful videos of those hikes are allowing me to revisit it in my heart.
I love the ice cave and love having the possibily to go there. But what I can‘t wrap my head around, is, that they just leave the white fleece out and not getting them out of the water again. They just float around and to the bottom of the glacier lake - never to be seen again. Just disintegrating over time… They make money with it, but treat the fragility of the glacier very badly. It‘s mind blowing in a very negative way…
I agree! There was so much contradiction in going to visit this glacier. I am shocked to hear they don’t clear out the white fleece. Still, I am glad I went :) it was awesome to see and to remind me that we need to be more mindful of how we live in the world.
So stunning! can't wait to pitch my tent in the swiss mountains again too... Which hiking trail did you start on and which lake do you see in the video?
