Nice - not the most technical of reviews, but no annoying background music made it watchable. I am going to consider the Dremel versus the Fein now because of your video. Thank you.
The dremel is made basically with sheet metal in mind, that’s all it’s really good for. It’s even advertised that way. The best one is the Bosch corded gop55 but it’s 300 dollars Or you can get a desoutter cast saw but they’re 2500 dollars just as powerful as multi saws but much smaller
When you start that Fein is top and the first task stuns you that the dremel plowed through the nail. Lol. Thanks for the review. I ended up just getting the dremel myself
Awesome review! I have one and am very happy with it. I did have the DeWalt, but the motor burned out. The Dremel is lighter and seems to be MUCH more powerful (5 amps) than the DeWalt, which I think was only 3 amps. And the variable speed is very helpful when cutting metal so you don't overheat the blade. I'm very impressed with this tool.
Good review, but correct me if I’m wrong, you are comparing the latest Dremel vs a Fein that has a few years. Nothing wrong with the comparison except with new technology advancing so fast, I wonder about the results. For instance, an older model of the Dremel from approximately the same release period as the Fein. I’ve heard the vibration has gotten better. Also, I wonder if Fein has a newer model to compare with the latest Dremel. In that regard, the Fein price on an older model should be reduced. Overall good review for what you have.
I need to trim off and 90 about 17 2x10 floor joists. Can't access it with circ saw or sawzall. Do you think the dremel could manage this? I had the dewalt 20v and im not sure if I had a defective one or something but it was useless. Couldn't even cut a screw. Barely cut into wood. So I sold it. Looking for a corded.
Hey Todd, 17 joists seems like a big task for an oscillating tool, but if it is so tight you cant reach it with a reciprocating saw you are limited in your options.
Old blades (old OIS standard) can not be used on new tools (Starlock)! Proprietary isn't quite right, it's just a new standard that has been used by Fein and Bosch since 2016 and now also by Makita as it offers various benefits. Fein and Festool should be the best you can buy, but also the most expensive multi tools. (Fein was the 1st multi tool on the market AND made in Germany ;-))
