In this video I compare two multi tools, the Dremel 4000 & Lidl's Parkside PFBS 160 B2
Looking at the features and cost balance & even though the is Dramel is faulty I do try and represent my views fairly.
Overall I have to say, value for money here means you can purchase 4 of the Parkside tools to one Dremel & as my Dremel only lasted 14 months (two year warranty (if you have receipt)),the Parkside with its 3 year warranty comes out the overall winner by far.
However you might have to wait a little for the Parkside one to come on Lidl store offer.
I can only state my personal view, I have no sway financially or otherwise on me.
This is the link to my review of the cordless battery version I now use

Good video. My dremel burnt out after 2 weeks. Used 4 times for light work. I'll never buy another. I bought parkside corded and cordless replacements. Cheap cheerful and gets the job done.

Important tip: Disassemble your Parkside tool, replace the bearings plus add the missing ones. They cheap out on this and your tool dies for silly reason.

Love my Parkside tool. Had it about 6 years and still does everything perfectly. All I've ever replaced is the flexi-drive. Bought a Silverline one to replace it, (and that's lasted longer than the dremel one at work, that doesn't get used much)

I just bought the parkside rotary tool and I must say it's better than dremel. It doesn't vibrate like dremel, runs much more quietly than the dremel and comes with useful accessories. It's my first choice to use and the dremel wiil be the backup

Lidl sells this for 25 euros and a Dremel with equivalent set of accessories costs 130 euros. I'm sure the Parkside isn't as good but I doubt that the Dremel is 10x better either.

Bad luck with the Dremel! I have used mine for over 10 years and its still going strong. I use it mainly with carbide burrs for parting line clean up. I find anything other than carbide is a waste of time except of course for the sanding discs drums and cut of wheels. It is the one tool in my shed that if it broke I would stop what I was doing and go buy another immediately. I rarely use the flexible drive as I feel its to much load on such a small machine even if well oiled! … Martin PS My Dremel came with 3 collets 1/16, 3/32, and 1/8

For personal use, always buy the best tools after you made your homework, yeah Dremel it is the best choice if you have a bit of respect for you. But if you have friends that ask for tools and you find hard to refuse, then buy also one Parkside for them, you already are the best friend so, keep about your tools because others will not, if they always ask ypu about tools...

Great review. I have just bought the Parkside one, and it was a no-brainer: the 3 year warranty is superb. Do you, or anyone else, know if the Parkside fits into the Dremel 3 in 1 workstation?
@WarGrade

That is a good question & one I have no answer too. Not knowing how the 3 in 1 unit holds it, I can not even hazard guess.

Mine is still going strong, and remember you have a 3 year warranted product, here in the UK that is return to shop for refund & I don't think you can argue with that for service.

Thanks for the review! Any chance you might still have the dremel around? I am looking for a replacement collet tightening nut, and can’t find any for Parkside. The old one has stripped threads. Hoped that Dremel or Proxxon parts might fit.

Hi Mika, I am not sire the parkside one has tha same collet, as the dremel. it is the Dremel on you are after? I will have a look as I cannot remember if I chucked it or not.

Thx! Lidl seems to have outsourced their replacement parts for Parkside tools to a website . Sent there an email. Dremel and Proxxon parts seem to be more readily available in local hardware stores, but postage of thoser parts cost almost much as the parts itself, and almost half the cost of the tool itself 9-12e for the parts and postage 8e for small purchases -_-

My Dremel works but I cannot change bits on it because the button you press to stop the chuck from rotating refuses to stop the shaft rotating. Whereby the Parkside tools are all very positive but as someone below has mentioned they fair better if you fit extra bearings at the front.

There’s two this is the precision multi grinder..I have just the multi grinder..I lost the charger and bless it it’s a work horse..I use it for everything from doing my macaws nails to a bit of jewellerymaking and bird toys..and lots of others..I was going to get another charger but the precision one looks much ..or sounds more powerful...I’ll be keeping an eye out in lidle..but that’s the pain in the ass..I’ll have to wait for it to be in ...

I get Parkside tools from Lidl, and as yet, they are all still working, but the reason i buy these tools is simply as you stated here, dremel was £100 and Parkside was £20...breaks down with warrenty, if not 2/6/12 mnths i could buy upto five parksides for the same price as a dremel+ if you do need to get another you get free backup tools...lol.... My multi tool parts are nearly all used, so i hope it burns out soon...lmao

Dear WarGrade, Thank you for your informative and well made Dremel / Parkside Rotary Tool comparison. I found your video while searching to find if the Dremel Router attachment was compatible. In your video the Parkside box has the attachment but I didn't get one with either of the two Parkside ones I have. I can't find them as accessories so wonder if the Dremel one will fit? If you haven't yet slung the Dremel could I beg you to have a look and see if it takes the Parkside attachment? I bought my first Parkside - PF BS12 B3 - and the chuck lock soon broke. The manufacturer in Germany happily replaced it with a PF BS12 A1 and I suspect you'll enjoy the poetry of my using the second machine to repair the first! I now have two lovely tools and waste only half the time changing bits.

I am sorry to say, it's long gone. For that mater so has the Parkside, I gave it away bacuse I love the Parkside battery model (recent video) I do know however that the thread that is on the front of the Parkside & the Dremel is diffrent.

The DREMEL quality tends to deteriorate. The stand I bought separately is of the worst possible quality! Their Customer Service here in Brussels is non-existant even if you have an employee on the line, he is utterly useless.
@WarGrade
@WarGrade 4 месяца назад
As with any named brand, it seems the bigger they get the less you get for your money, a few might still try and deliver a quality item, but for the most the profit becomes the sole goal. trading off the name is the game, I know & have seen it first hand. I am not saying Parkside are the best, it's just you can afford to replace it 3 or 4 times compared to the once of a name brand & thats the clincher.

I bought the parkside one a few years ago with an eye to upgrading to dremel. I think I'll stick with the parkside, now. Mine's probably out of warranty at this time but it's still running well. I use it for a bit of hobby work or light odd jobs. I've added a set of micro drill bits, third party collets and Lidl's set of diamond grinding bits, and that's set me up nicely. Although I'm also working out the kinks with a dremel circle-cutting attachment and wondering if the dremel plunge router would fit on too. If there's a few things I don't like about the parkside, they include the hanging rod, which has to be really tight or it collapses; the sleeve on the flexi-shaft doesn't want to pull down and lock the chuck half the time; and the case is a flimsy piece of crap where the handle's always falling out and I can't get everything slotted neatly back into it. Not a big problem, because like yourself I keep the thing off to one side rather than stow it away every time, but I need to go see some other storage and transport options. Great comparison vid, puts things in perspective.

I wouldn't ever buy Dremel again as they're crap!!, I bought a cordless, It was very weak and stalled easily!, Also, The switch contacts could be seen when the battery was removed and became corroded with verdegis appearing and losing contact!, I recently bought a Parkside which has ample power by comparision and is much the better machine!

I do think over all the Parkside is a good machine, a little heavy but the torque is as good as a mains tool.
