I always thought she was just so cute. I was 16 when this movie came out and my friends are I used to love to repeat Drew’s lines in her voice “alligators in the sewers”, “a deformed kid”…she’s cute in every movie and still has that adorable voice. Don’t ever change Drew.

It's amazing that Elliot from E.T. would grow up to play not one but TWO of the scariest homicidal villains in cinema history: a young Norman Bates (originally from Pyscho) in a prequel movie and in Dr. Sleep as Jack Torrance (originally from the Shining).

I remember seeing this at the theater like it was yesterday. I was only 11 years old at the time but I remember how much I loved it. Being a huge Star Wars fan, I loved all the Star Wars references in it lol I have no memory of ever knowing about Reese’s Pieces until I saw this film but I got a bag of them while I first watched it because they were so heavily marketed with this film. I bet E.T. made the Hershey company a lot of money back then lol

Spielberg thankfully had that sense of childhood wonder Anyone else would’ve botched this up making these kids annoying and detestable But the guy drew from his own experiences and had a great cast of youthful actors

I often wondered if in the early scene in the kitchen when Elliott calls his brother "punishment breathe" if that was ad libbed because the half shocked and half laughing reaction from the actress that played the momwas so genuine

The behind the scenes documentary when Stephen Spielberg shows Drew the ET puppet isn’t afraid but with talent and comedy👍 when Gertie screams starts to put ET in alert and then wouldve signal their mom! wouldn’t know what if she’ll react ether freaked out, or would had faint😂🤷🏻‍♂️ then wouldn’t have him around wont be able to get home😄

It was Halloween day of 1981 when they filmed that part. So he decided to playfully dress up as "Elliot's Grandma." It was requested by Drew and Henry.
