In this video I go over the drivability of my 2005 GMC Sierra 5.3 with a btr stage 4 cam and a 3400 circle D stall converter ! Socials IG / andregarcia5.0 TIK TOK vm.tiktok.com/TTPdkVjWXB/
I will say that a FTI 3200 stall converter on a stock setup makes the whole truck fill different. It fills like your towing an anchor in first gear but once you get going it feels amazing. Top it with a corvette servo and a shift kit, it’s a sleeper since nothing has been done to the engine yet.
wow I love the sound of that camshaft...please give me the name of that cam and all the number of the specs of that camshaft...that is one mean sounding camshaft at idle and going down the street...I would love to see Dyno numbers and track time slips...if time slips look Pretty reasonable I would like to go with that setup of yours and go from there????
I have a 08 Chevy Tahoe with a 5 3 in it and I was thinking about putting a stage 4 cam in it wondering can I drive it daily and will I still be able to have AC
You need your tuner to look at your 1-2 shift. That was a very lazy shift! Since its a 4L60E, you should add a little more torque management so it completes the shift quicker. Ive had to fix soooo many trans tunes from a local performance tuner. Its kind of annoying and now I look for it everywhere... lol
I recently installed a 3200 stall converter on my 2003 silverado 6.0 cam stage 2 and TBSS intake but wont shift after 2nd When i had the stock torque converter was shifting good
@AbslutZr add torque management, which pulls timing during shifting. Only add about 10%, then you can shorten the time needed for the shift. Under full power, I shoot for 0.125 seconds. As long as you gave the pressures and torque management in proper place, that shift is crisp and firm.
I recently installed a 3200 stall converter on my 2003 silverado 6.0 cam stage 2 and TBSS intake but wont shift after 2nd When i had the stock torque converter was shifting good Its a 4l60e stock transmission 4:10 gear differential g80 and TBSS intake Does the transmission needs to be tuned?
Richard Holdener dyno tested this same cam in a 5.3 and it made peak power at 7600 RPM with TrickFlow 245 cathederal ports and a BTR Trinity intake. When you get on it around 7:57 it seems like the tune shifts around 5500-6000. I assume you have stock heads and intake but even so, IMO, it probably needs to rev out more to really eat. That said I can understand the limiting factor currently may be your transmission.
I have this same cam with ported heads on my 2011 sierra and drove it with stock converter for over a year with no problems other than brakes felt weird because it did not create enough vacuum at idle but thats it I finally installed a 3200 stall and love it do yourself a favor and just get the converter installed when you do your cam
@@charlieb7165 i called jegs. They said the stage 4 cam with 3300 stall is not streetable. Im so ready to throw in the towel. Like I said before, I have the same setup and you. The guy who did my swap doesnt tune ok the regular. He drove it and sent recordings to someone until the person felt that the car was properly tuned. Still stalls. Sighs
@@thec.mccshow4840 what state are you located I have the same set up too but you need a quality tune for it to drive the way you want it too do not get rid of it you will regret it
