I had a popping noise in my left rear axle on my 550 several years ago. I was able to buy a complete axle off eBay for less than $40 with free shipping. It’s still working great. The price was so good that I bought another axle just to have a spare. I haven’t needed it yet but it’s there if I do need it.
I was "NO no no, you forgot to put the rest of the grease in the BOOT!" Haha, then you caught yourself. Great install, I need to get me some of those clamps.
Yup , that almost happened. LOL Would have sucked to remove that brand new clamp. Most likely would have ruin that new clamp trying to remove it. Thanks for checking out the video much appreciated!
On an aaannngle!!! Love it!! What a great idea using the slide hammer to remove the joint! I've always used a brass punch while my slide hammer sits lonely in the corner.😂
Oh no, lonely slide hammer sitting in the corner.. LOL Been doing it that way for years on cars at work. Thanks for checking out the video! Appreciate you dropping a comment!
That was great timing. I have a 2000 400 Big Bear that the rear Boot is bad. Other than it having Drum Brakes don't you thing it's Similar. I only use the 400 around my small Acreage. I really look forward to your Videos. The only thing is I have a Polaris General Deluxe that I ride at the LOOP & LOTO in MO. I've been to Mulberry once in 2021. It was fun, but it's 6 hours from home. The other two are around 3 & I ride with Friends. When I went to Mulberry it was a one time trip. Keep up the great Work.
Hey Shawn, Haha Yup have to be careful with the pliers be pinching a finger.LOL Yup I believe the boys are going to make our next ride trip in September. Thanks for checking out the video, my friend!
I liked your video for sure, and you seem very capable and knowledgable. I would appreciate in future videos if you would let us know socket sizes as your removing everything
Nice video! Interesting to see the inner workings of a cv axle. I've had a couple torn boots on the suburban but i just replaced the whole axle. Have fun on the next ride! We'll be wishing we were there but we'll have fun in Colorado too😎
Hey mornin Rod, yeah, lotta folks just replace the whole axle when they have a torn boot. You guys have fun at Colorado and be safe. Are you going to do any filming? Maybe post some videos from that trip?
I'm planning on taking the camera but my mic setup isn't set up right so not sure how good of video I'll get. Last time we were at mulberry in April I got just a bit of video before my camera mount broke and the audio didn't sound good so I've got some changes to do. But all my extra time has went to building my shop so haven't had a chance to mess with it yet.
Nice video! I am just now getting around to it because somehow I never got a notification. I was browsing my subscription and noticed it this way. Anyways, you made this look really easy to take off and install. I like the homemade tool for the job. Probably cheaper to make it than going to other route.
Hey buddy, yeah, that happens to me too. Don’t get my notifications. Hopefully that video will help some folks out if they ever have to do a boot on there Grizzley. Thanks for checking out the video my friend.
@@kcatv9556 . . . I passed on your video to the originator of that saying, "Bit of an aaaaangle", Big Dave from TamarackTR and told him he was famous - lol. I see he left you a comment. Nice!
Hey Nathan, they are standard automotive CV boot clamp cramping pliers. I believe I picked him up at O’Reillys auto parts many years ago. Hope that helps you out, thanks for checking out the video.
