That actually provides the suspect a dangerous advantage. Innocent lives could be lost and life-changing injuries could happen due to someone providing detailed updates.

You can't say never, sometimes they do get away, but that is rare.

In many cities they'll stop a chase if it gets fast into a residential area. And they dont always have the helicopters available to get on them in time. Also at night they won't give chase on foot into wooded areas. I know i Of people who've gotten into several chases and get away. My one old neighbor use to run on them all the time on his motorcycle, we had two cat walks on each end of our two sided culdesac street, the cop car couldn't fit threw. Haha.
