The driver did not have time to check to see if he successfully passed the author. He started braking right after passing author because he did not see the drunk driver, as overtaking from author's lane, he was too late. The driver cannot swerve in time, as the road is made of ice, as he turns into the barrier, the drunk driver does the same to avoid the vehicle. Unfortunately, this leads to the crash. The drunk driver and the victim's passenger [38] pass away on the spot. The Driver survives in the hospital.

Mostly everywhere unfortunately. We just see more if it coming from Russia because they learned to always have dash cams fixed to their cars in order to protect themselves from another disturbing trend i.e People jumping in front of cars for insurance pay outs. Unless you can prove you're not at fault, you'd be guilty and have to pay people out. Heck some guys just walk up to the car, lean on it and fall over in order to get that scam payout. So now they have dashcams to protect them from that, and we also get to see how stupid people are on the roads, not just there in Russia, but everywhere it's the same. It goes hand in hand with an entitled attitude. Idiots think they're so important they can't wait 5 seconds for a car to pass, in stead they'll just drive in front of it hoping to save 5 seconds, then they get into an accident and waste away hours.
