Though I am reluctant to call it a 'homestead' yet, that is the goal for this place. This first week on our own land was a whirlwind. We got our driveway cut in, installed an Enduraplas 2600 gallon water tank and set up our 'garage'.

I'm really enjoying these early videos of how you got started on your property, and what it takes (in phases) to build a homestead from the ground up... what to do first, second, etc. Very helpful in organizing my thought process, and creating a plan.

Oh my gosh! Look at how far you’ve come in just 3 years!! I had so much fun watching you get started on building your homestead. And I love that you were already using the song about “no place like home” even back then. I love the music you use in your videos, and that song is my favorite. You should all watch this one again. It’s an amazing video!

Hi,a community garden where I help has two 500 gallon tall cylindrical tanks that have strong pressure when water is taken from a faucet and hose added to the bottom tap. I think there would be enough pressure to start a siphon action over a distance like an aquarium on a counter to bring water up into an RV or other installation. Another alternative would be a hand or solar/battery powered pump.

I would say get some shade for the airstream 1st. I imagine it's gonna get hot in that shiny little home in the desert. Also you should strap down your little easy up. I've seen lots of them go flying in a gust of wind. Then a puppy. Everyone needs a puppy.😁❤

Just ordered on shade sails today! It’s a necessity out here. We have 4, 40lb bags on each of the legs, we’ll see how well that holds. It will come down when monsoon season comes.

It’s pretty high on the list but we have a few logistics to work out first. We have a ‘road’ that we want to try to get abandoned before we begin fencing and also, it’s a huge expense that we’ll need to save up for.

Things appear to be going well. ☺️Take your time get to know your land and new area and then plan. I love the table idea! 💗 I think I am going to do that now. You should set up shade area and make a small enclosure with ranch/gopher fencing and get two puppies you need two out there in the desert make sure the breed does well in your area and climate. Best regards ☀️☀️

The weather is nice now, but winter can come on really fast in the high desert.... so, make sure you folks are ready for winter before it shows up before you expected it.... Also, take your time and figure out what are your highest priorities.... and, don't try to do everything all at once.....I was a landscape designer and consultant who specialized in ranchettes and smaller acreage properties like yours, and it is easy to get caught up in wanting to do it all all at once; but take a deep breath and take your time; and consider your family's needs first; and concentrate on one area at a time....plus, you don't need a super powered pump; just a good one; you can increase your water pressure by decreasing your pipe size the farther away from the water source; namely your tank.... So, start out with say, a one inch pipe, and decrease it as you get closer to your trailer, and you'll find you will have plenty of water flow ( make sure you wrap all your water lines and insulate your water pump, if you use one).I am excited for you folks and wish you the best on your homesteading journey.

We are planning on getting a generator to run a 1HP shallow well pump for our cistern. I've heard good things about the Drummond brand at Harbor Freight. We are up in Northern AZ! Just subbed to keep up with ya.
@TinyShinyHome
@TinyShinyHome 3 года назад
Hey AZ neighbors :) - so make sure to watch our "water pump fail" video (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GdDBm4ix4Ic.html) because that pump is craaaazy powerful. Caused us all sorts of inverter problems You'll need at least a 3000w generator (maybe more) to run it. We ended up using a 12v RV pump, accumulator, and solar setup - way simpler:(ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zJiOVsNgYxE.html).

How about a rain catchment structure that you could have a shop/storage area underneath. Large solar system is another good idea. But a puppy is easier. Ha ha

Suggestion . Get a trailer.. cheaper than replacing truck... my f350 got tore up.. just 1 ding here and another there.. make for a bunch of dings...and degradation of an expensive price of equipment..

New sub here..I'm out in Tampa,FL aka Satan's Arm-pit..I bought land in Willcox near Kristopher Travels and RV Steve travels..we all bought nearby each other..RV Steve is still here in Tampa area like me but I hope to head west soon..I am looking into land out a ways more as I'm more near Willcox and only .25 acre so I'm looking in Pearce/Sunsites I think it is..If you don't mind saying what area of Cochise are you in? We will all be neighbors soon enough.. My plan was to build a shed tiny house as a home base for travel..I hope to use it to store all my stuff, have a home sorta to retreat to.I mean it's cheaper than paying $275 a month in storage that I do now!...I know the zoning is tricky out there and really wanted the RU4 which the Sunsites/Pearce has that Willcox does not..
