Driving a SEMI for The First Time Ever (CDL Truck Driver Student)!!!

Driving starts at 1:18
In this video, I drive and 18-wheeler for the first time. It was an empty load and a little windy outside. This was practice for the CDL Class-A road test and we need to get our road-time in. You need a certain amount of hours for CDL school.
While driving, I discuss some pretty interesting trucking topics with my instructor during the ride. We stopped to grab a bite and continued trucking!
I am currently attending Fleet Force Truck Driving School located in Florida.
Today wraps up our third week of class. We have one more week until we test for pre-trip, backing maneuvers, and on-the-road. It's crunch-time!!! Female Truck(h)er on the rise!

im so happy I found your channel, just passed my CDL test last week and got my CDL, I have orientation for swift Tuesday but I also have an interview for a local company Wednesday. Good luck on your journey, its so awesome to see someone who's in a similar spot in this journey to me. you're doing a great job keep up the good work.

How are you, best of luck to you! I remember when I started with 10 speed, loved manual shifting, then moved to automatics, been pulling doubles now but stay at it!

Is that your favorite model, or do you like Freightliner, Peterbilt, Volvo, Mack, or Kenworth better? Personally, Freightliner is my favorite.

I’m about to start my CDL journey too. My workforce is paying for my CDL Class. I just need to pay 3 of my tickets that I got years ago in order to start a class. Does anyone here know if paying your ticket resets the timer on how long it lasts on your MVR ?

Dont believe that… there’s also an interview online talking about how that’s not even remotely true, confirmed by truckers from UPS. Ups is a ver UNSTABLE company right now. I’d be cautious looking for a truck job with them until they get internal affairs straightened out.

Drilla.... no company is going to even consider you until you get at least six months experience. I notice the school is using a short trailer. You need experience with a normal 53ft trailer. Swift, cr England, and crst will take anyone bc their pay sucks. Nia left swift after a year and went to kllm and got .65 cpm. Kllm is also a training company so you could try them. I ran a ten speed for six years then most companies went to automatic so I've run auto for years now. Still miss the manual but it sucks in traffic. If someone gets a driving position with little to no experience they have connections. Especially an 18 year old. Most places require you to be at least 23.

You can’t gather everything from one video. I was driving a 53 ft trailer in this video and I already have my CDL & trucking job. Also, I’m well over the age of 18 and 23. But yeah, I know Nia left Swift after 11 months. I appreciate your tips. Be blessed!

Now a driver can get hired with no experience it just depends on how much they need a driver and how You sale yourself. Is is true manuals are great even in traffic, the control You have in a manual is total.
