3:40 that empty building on the right used to be Lord & Taylor, it closed in 2020. Mizner is slowly dying. Lot of empty retail space in there. You'll notice Boca Raton doesn't allow billboards or signs. There are MacDonalds, but they are in a Spanish style and the golden arches are very small and on the building itself. If you don't know where they are , you won't find them. All buildings have to be in that Spanish style , there are only four or five colors any building can be.

haven't been to boca raton and delray beach since1978...absolutely loved it. It looks so clean....i would move there if it wasn't for the heat which i can't tolerate anymore, just cannot do it. I would be inside for 5 solid months out of the sun...my two trips to florida were in March, beautiful climate.
LOL 😂, I'm from Upstate NY and moved here in 88 . I love the beautiful Upstate but not the cold. I'm 63 and still lift weights 5 days a week outside on my concrete patio in Central Florida. And that humidity is making me sweat . But I love it.
Crazy thing is, just nine years ago while renting in Boca we looked at properties for sale. 2/2 Condos were selling for only $160,000 - $170,000. They’ve more than doubled in value since then.

@@john-robert1961 I know for a fact after the 2008 crash prices came down here substantially. I don't know the timeline for this area specifically, but I know overall in the USA home prices bottomed in 2012 and have gone up ever since then. I don't own a crystal ball so history is my best guidepost.
"Boca" also means small inlet in Spanish. "Ratones" is what the Spaniards called the jagged rocks on the inlet. Perhaps they thought the rocks resembled mice. Hence the original "Boca de Ratones" meant ... the small inlet of jagged rocks. This is possibly how Boca Raton got its name. 🐁🐁

@@michaelsnively3621 no I live by the Suwannee river. I can go to Jax or Augustine on a day trip. But I grew up a mile from Juno and always lived close. It's much more calm here but I miss the seabreeze
@@danab5552 yeah I like calm, but I'd like to be within a half hour of the beach. It looks like the panhandle is a little less crowded than Central or South Florida. The traffic is incredible now.
