Ever wondered what it’s like to drive inside the Knight 2000? Here you can enjoy the experience from the drivers view inside the Knight 2000 prototype K.A.R.R
Funny because aesthetically I like Karr's dual colour scheme better than kitt's. That's said, very well done modifying your Karr. I bet its a star on the road. I know I would freak out if I see one of these on the road.
this is the best combo...... KITT's latest version of dashboard, but with KARR's voicebox...... looks so much cooler than that "obsolete" KARR's dash from the series 👍👍👍 the only thing I never liked about KARR, was the grey paint...... I liked KARR in all-black...... but that's just my taste
Bet you get a lot of attention when out and about in this. Must make you feel like a movie star. Well done KARR was my favourite in the series, so glad someone built him after mostly seeing KITT replicas
Hi Mark, definitely gets attention everywhere it goes. I do feel great when with the car. I think it brings out the inner child in us all who enjoyed the show as children and or as adults. Yes I have built a number of KITT replicas over the years. KARR however had definitely been my favourite of the all
Wow this is awesome! I had a Subaru SVX that I used to call KITT because it also has tons of useless buttons and a similar shape but I'm not on the same level haha. Great job!
My jaw dropped when you stepped outside and showed the exterior - absolutely stunning job, well done! Have you investigated adding the "bowling" hubcaps to the wheels, and perhaps adding some KARR voice clips?
Hi and that’s for your kind words. Regards the wheels. Yes absolutely. The car has 16” BMW wheels for better on road performance. I have custom made replica 16” caps which iv currently removed to enable me to re mould them and so get a perfect gel polish finish rather than paint as they are now. I do also have the original 15” wheels and caps if ever needed. Regards the voice, yes normally the car is fitted with a PC and voice recognition software using Peter Cullens voice aka KARR (only one episode as another voice actor did KARR in the other episode) Thank you again
About a decade ago I photoshoped karr's voicebox in kitt's season 3. I always wondered how it would have been like if karr would have been upgraded to the level past kitt from he was in the very 1st episode. Would he have stood a chance to fight against Michael and kitt with all of their upgrades if it was an even match. Also my team and I were able to put in karr from my GTA5 mod download to the season 3 dash.
@@knightsofengland1 It does look great. To take it a step further, next video you shoot, could you have the voice modulator run with audio clips that karr said from both episodes trust doesn't rust and kitt vs karr?
@@stolmich we have developed a voice box which uses bi colour leds which is both KITT and KARR enabled. Unfortunately the leds are no longer available so we haven’t put that into production. Yes KARR does talk, however in these clips the PC isn’t hooked up
Brilliant conversion!! It would've been interesting if K.A.R.R. also had the Season 3/4 dash, which you clearly have inserted. Now all you have to do is, put on a K.A.R.R. license plate, the correct rims and the front nose should also be spray painted like in the K.I.T.T. vs. K.A.R.R. episode!! Otherwise, great job!!
Thank you for your comments. The nose was painted but I built a new one after a minor issue with the car driving itself into the wall 😂 🙈 The car will be fully repainted shortly. The car does have the correct licence plate, just not used whilst on the road and in this video. Regards the wheels. You are correct these are not turbo cast wheels. I removed the 15” wheels in place of these 16” as the car drives / handles much better and you have a wider range of tyres available. I have 16” turbo cast style (bowling ball) caps for them also which I just do not have fit on this video. Always appreciate comments on my videos many thanks as always 👍
One of the best ive seen, but just one question, how come the kitt voice graphic continuously goes off whilst driving? Thats the only thing that would drive me nuts lol
Hi, thanks for your kind words. The video shows the voice box in “show” or demo mode so it just cycles. I’m reality it’s just an audio input driven by any source when not in show mode
That’s a great question, and a great link to another awesome 80’s show. Honestly I have no clue, answers on a postcard haha 😂 honestly so many of the graphics used in the show have spurious meanings or no meaning at all.
Thank you for taking time to comment. I have to say so far KARR has been fairly well behaved but… you can never be to careful around him that’s for sure ;)
Hi, thank you for your comment. I removed the turbo cast wheels in favour of 16” wheels for better on road performance. Regarding T-Tops having had both T Top, convertible and hard top versions in the UK I am happier with the hard top as this offers better protection in all weathers and is a better performing body shell.
Hi, thank you. Yes the entire vehicle is designed and built by myself. I and a few friends set up a business called Knights of England in 1999. We have been producing parts to build these cars ever since. If you have interest check out: Facebook “Knights of England” & www.knightsofengland.co.uk
Hey, Awsome looking karr rep 👍 I recognise the area on the video, you're about 20 minutes away from me. So wanted to let you know about an American car event coming up this weekend near by if you'd like to come too! It'd be awesome to see karr there. Feel free to inbox me and I'll tell you when and where etc 👍 Obviously don't wanna give away any locations on public comments
Hi Lucas and thank you for your comment. It’s great to connect with more local people. I would of loved to be able to bring KARR along but unfortunately I will be working and unable to attend. I have also just taken KARR off the road for the winter. As you are local if you wish to see KARR in person inbox me and we will sort something out 👍 I hope you and all who attend the show have a fantastic time at the weekend.
@@knightsofengland1 no problem. Just thought I'd let you know. We do a few events quite locally to our area throughout the year and it's all quite friendly and normal. Too. I'll work out how to inbox you on here and tell you more
Hi and thanks for your comment. Great question! Of course it’s all in a made up fantasy world and as such people can make up their own theories. But one theory could be that whilst KITT was made from Michael Longs car their is the possibility they (the foundation) had already purchased a stock 82 car prior to finding Michael and mothballed it after it went rogue. Then finding Michael the opportunity to use his car for KITT was to good to pass up. Just a theory if course. Again great question and one iv never thought of before 👍
Hi, thanks for the question. No it’s illegal in the UK to drive with any flashing light to the front of a motor vehicle other than amber for a turn signal unless your an emergency vehicle. But you may have it fit for use of road / on a private space. Your MOT station may also insist it works for the test as all lights fit should be operational.
@@knightsofengland1 think the amber Larson scanner is mostly legal here in the States ( used by a lot of amateur and professional storm chasers but the majority of replica KITTs are represented as KITT rather than KARR ( nice build and choice to go with KARR and the 2 tone scheme btw) so they have to deal with the obvious fact that a red Larson scanner is a huge no no though the amusing thing is most of the KITT owners that have been asked the pressing question have said about the only time they get pulled over is a cop wanting to check out and maybe get a pic or two and most LEOs they've asked have said oh yeah I could definitely write you up for the red light on the front but I don't really want to explain to the judge writing up KITT though I suppose the " free pass " KITT gets more and more distant in the cultural rear view mirror as time passes.
Very clean inside only downside no t-tops and balling ball caps personality I don't like any windows tinted for a KARR or knight rider AKA KITT. other than that Very nice KARR 👍
Hi, thanks for your comment. The reason I have built this with a none T -bar car is as follows: over the past 22 years I’ve owned and built many of these cars, some hard top some T - bar and one convertible. My experience had been that the hard top car is the only style which you can reliably keep water out of. Also the cars body is structurally stronger giving less flex and better drivability. These are my personal reasons for the hard top car. Regards the wheels, this car has a set of 15” turbo cast wheels and caps, however I personally prefer larger wheels so have fit a set of 16” wheels. I do have my own customer bowling ball caps for these wheels which I just haven’t fit in these videos. Of course the blackout windows is a personal choice also :) Thanks again for your comments. 👍
@@knightsofengland1 I like the way you have the dash so perfect....very clean... I hope I didn't offended you I was only pointing out if I owned a knight rider...
Hi, thanks for commenting. Yes you are correct of course :) I keep the cars original Tax discs in the window because I think it’s more in period for the car. Almost 40 years old now 😮
Thank you for your comment. I like to keep the car as close to being in its era as possible and I think the cars original tac disc holder with its old discs is a nice touch myself :)
Thank you for your comment. Personally I think the car amd the voice and scripting were a perfect combination. Neither would have been as good without the other in my own opinion. That said if I could listen to KITT talk all day or drive the car all day I wouldn’t choose the voice.
@@knightsofengland1 I agree, the car was like KITT's muscle car suit of armor. But if you heard KITT's voice in a, van. You'd probably be like "How did KITT get in van??". But yes, Kit's Face so to speak, is the 82ish trans am. But if you KITT's voice in another vehicle, it's like he's having an outta body experience.
Hi again, great observation. I do have the 15’s turbo cast wheels and caps but these are 16” wheels that offer a much better driving experience. I do also have custom made 16” bowling ball caps just not fit in the videos.
Hi, thank you for your comment. All products seen here are available from Knights of England www.knightsofengland.co.uk Also have a Facebook page Knights of England Good luck with your future projects
Who’s electronics do you have? They don’t look like Jupiter electronics, you have features that I don’t think I have in mine or may be I don’t know about them. Anyway Karr stole Kitt’s dash, bad Karr.
@@knightsofengland1 extremely nice. I tried to contact them years ago but had no luck, after I bought my electronics I was able to contact them. Are they still making the electronics? Thank you for the quick reply.
Hahaha great comment, to answer the question of why… well iv built many KITT cars and thought I’d like something a little different so at shows my car doesn’t just blend into all the other KITT cars. I also did my own variation on KARR as a season 4/5 (yes no season 5 but maybe had their been a season 5 this is how KARR May have appeared)
Thanks for taking time to comment. The voice box wasn’t connected at the time of filming this clip and so was just in what we call show made randomly moving … :)
The voice box is in what we call show (Demo) mode so it’s a random pattern rather than responding to actual commands or other audio inputs during this video. Thank you for your comment :)
Thanks for the comment. The wheels are a choice for and do have the 16” bowling ball caps just not fit in the video. The original turbo cast wheels are in storage.
Hi, thanks for taking time to comment. KARR can talk, however during this video the VB was not connected to an input and was running in what we call “demo or show mode”
Bad replica. KARR would have 2 monitor screens. The single monitor dash wasn’t introduced until later in the series. The wheels are incorrect also. As well as the paint design.
