These engine and fuel injection systems often get a bad right up, people say problematic low power blah blah. If you get them running as they should and did when new they are as good as any from their era.

I never understood the hate on the Crossfire systems, I owned one and worked on a customer's. It's basically a TBI, easy to make them run right once you get used to them. Blows my mind why so many people hate on it, guess they can only understand bolting on a random carb with unknown jets lol. Awesome car by the way, thanks for sharing bro!
Hi, thank you for the comment. I think you hit the nail on the head sinto speak. People didn’t understand them and rather than learn how torneiro with them they just assumed they are rubbish. I love mine and others iv owned. Sure it’s dated tech but perfect for the era of the car
I had a friend who owned a 83 Z28 Camaro with that motor and he learned about a few Crossfire engines that malfunctioned and caused fires. So GM had alot of recalls on them. Corvette's were first on that list. I find it very strange to see one in this Pontiac because Pontiac had way better engines of choice. But a replica is a Replica
Yo that interior is AWESOME!!!! As a huge fan of Knight Rider when I was a kid I would have lost my mind seeing that in person! I love the sounds and how everything works inside. Soooo incredible! Great job!!!
Wow it makes it look like it’s actually some sort of 80s concept turbine combustion engine thing, that’s actually pretty awesome. With all those buttons I’d forget what they do!

If I ever won the big Jackpot I would definitely have a ride like this. The Electronics for the Dash has changed a lot since I first saw these back in 2001.

@@knightsofengland1 Thank you. I thought it was a neat idea - dual throttle body injection and had a cool name "cross fire" but it got a bad rap "cease fire" etc. Nice to see one working healthy and hear they can be good for the era. Still looks neat to me!
Very nice set up of KARR i haven't seen those crossfire injected v8 in years I remember those when it was new for the 4th gen corvette 3rd gen trans am and z 28 camaro
Thank you for the comment, they are getting harder to find in good working order. Iv had them in Trans am and 4th gen Vetts. They get a bad press but if sorted they are a great induction system.
How interesting the background where karr is parked looks very familiar. I maybe have seen it. Or two to be exact one without front pumper or hood And interior removed and in the backseat
My 84 Fiero has what is basically the single TBI version of this system, there's a learning curve, but if you put in the time and effort to figure it out, they can run quite reliably.

It's interesting how the Kitt and Karr vehicles changed as the car itself changed, it went from that boxy with no fog light look to the pointier with fog light look, much prefer the original boxier look
@@Zelaznogsiul-63 not really, it depends how good you are with soldering and connecting wires. Basically it’s power ground and then all the signals to make the various gauges functional. If you are not bothered about them being functional you can just add power abs ground and it all lights up in demo (show) mode

Hi thank you for your comment. The scanner is built by Knights of England. As one of the co founders the unit was built by myself and Neil Breakwell, so for me the scanner was at cost price. When this scanner was built some 15 years ago it would have sold for £300.00 Due to a lack of demand in the market KoE no longer offer scanners. Their are many options for scanners from other suppliers ranging from a few hundreds to a couple of thousand for the more fancy scanners that have extra functionality.

@@ianmarkey9434 I would advise keep checking eBay as they come up from time to time second hand for a reasonable price or join some Facebook Knight Rider groups and ask if anyone has one for sale.
This is just over 10” I think 10.2. This particular screen is no longer available as far as I am aware. I got it through a US supplier but the screen was built and shipped from China as a one off I believe. Sorry I can’t help further

It’s the correct dash for KARR season 5 which is what it’s designed to represent. Yes I realise the show only lasted 4 seasons. This is a what if KARR was to return and be rebuilt with KITTs updated spec. Thanks for taking time to comment all comments are very appreciated 👍
Hi Robbie, great observation however this is a season 3/4 dash not season 2 which as you say KITT and KARR both shared. This particular KARR is not supposed to represent what was seen in either of the two episodes. This is my interpretation of what KARR may have been had he returned for a third episode later in the series. Having built and owned many of these replicas and been to many gatherings where they all look the same I was inspired to build a more unique and personal expression of what KARR may have been. The dash I created has many different coloured leds including blue which was never used in the show just taking it a little further into a personal expression. Iv been building replicas for 23 years (Knights of England) and fancied something for me a little different. So for this build I decided to build a season 5 inspired return of KARR for a third time. Hi, thanks for taking time to share your thoughts. To clarify this is a replica and has never been suggested it’s anything else. Regards the car being a hard top. That was a choice made by myself after building many T top versions and a convertible version over the past 23 years. Thank you for commenting. I know AJ and the team at KRH well. I was actually the person who first reunited the “rubber” nose with Joe KITT. If you watch the videos he uploaded you can see me holding up the nose in one of the pics. This was out in Arizona. I was their with AJ and a few friends.
