Driving Australia's Longest Road Tunnel (M8 Motorway) (2023) 

At 9 km (5.59 mil) long, the M8 Motorway is Australia's longest road tunnel as of 2023. Opened in mid 2020, the M8 Motorway was built as part of Australia's largest road project called WestConnex.
WestConnex is mostly an underground tolled motorway that links motorists from Western Sydney and South-West Sydney to the CBD and Sydney Airport without any traffic lights.
Construction of the WestConnex project began in 2015 and is expected to be completed by late 2023.
