Driving Lesson on country roads | Dual Carriageway

Starting the driving lesson at Woburn and driving through Woburn forest with my student Abi. It's a sunny day which will cause a problem with the sun shinning through the trees and reflecting on the windscreen(very off putting).
Having a driving lesson on country roads can be an enjoyable one if you remember that there are hidden dangers on the roads, such as horse and riders, cyclists, motor cyclists. Then you could have wild animals or wild fowl walking into the roads, not to mention other car users who want to drive fast.
The speed limit on a country road could be national speed limit(60 mph single track road), but that does not mean it's a target speed, you need to take into account the condition of the roads you are driving on and if the roads have sharp bends on.
Then we drive onto a dual carriageway, entering via a slip road(acceleration lane) which I though Abi done very well on. The driving lesson is finished off with Abi driving through Fenny Stratford on some smaller roads with lots of traffic on.

Travis, @07:16, Abi seemed not checking the blind sport nor leaning forward when entering dual carriage. I am not going to challenge, but did she do something else to replace the exaggeration moving head?

I have spoken to Abi about this. Abi like to use her eye movement and not much of head movement. But it’s definitely something that she has been working on more.

Nice video and good driving Abi. Thanks sir. Sir I have a question. In this video first two mini roundabout together. My question if I pass first mini and I follow my right there no car but when I enter then I see a car come from right side of second mini roundabout then what should I do? Should I carry on going or stop for right side car because it’s very narrow? Hope I make u understand sir. Could you please make a video for mini roundabout together how can learner handle it? Plz sir make it before 29th august my test 29th. Plz pray for me. Thanks

See when exiting a dual carriageway should I be gearing down to slow down the car or should I just slowly break then push down the clutch and select second or first gear? Great videos thanks for the help.

Hi, I’m doing my driving test in my own car next month. However it does have a few modifications and aftermarket parts fitted (nothing that would fail an mot) however is there a chance that an examiner could refuse to do the test as a result of the alterations to the car? Do you know this ever having happened or believe that it could happen? Thank you

You cannot use the modification to help you with test such as fitted rear camera. But if you are worried, pop into test centre a week before and ask.

I thought these roads looked familiar. My folks live in Woburn Sands but we used to live in Newport Pagnell. I'm actually driving up to see them in a few weeks and staying in Ridgmont so this was very helpful. I passed my test 10 years ago but as I lived in Brighton, I didn't keep up the driving. I have now bought a car and am practising like crazy for when I head up. And you're right, those roads are really enjoyable to drive (and I say that as a passenger!)

Hello! When driving around Bletchley, in 30 mph zones, every so often the pavement is "dropped" on opposite sides of the road and there's an island with yellow markings separating the two lanes of the single carriageway road. If pedestrians are standing on the pavement, waiting to cross at this point, is the driver expected to stop on the carriageway to allow them to cross or are the pedestrians to wait until it is safe to cross?

Great video, Mr T. Thanks for posting. Absolutely crazy that many country lanes are 60. On many country lanes, you can't can't hit the full 60, let alone even get near it. It's just the driver needs to use common sense and study the road and conditions of it and drive according to them. Hope Abi passed her test. Thanks for making and posting this video, Mr T and well driven, Abi.
