Driving Tesla Cybertruck: Everything You Need to Know! 

I wonder at what point this entire project went from “this is such a cool idea” to “we have to make it work somehow because you know who insists on it” amongst the engineers.

I love how the front end is sharply angled to ensure pedestrians I hit get sheared in half. Elon thinks of every detail.

There are some things the Cybertruck does that I hope catches on with other manufacturers. Specifically, the headlight placement. It's nice and low, which is great because every truck has their headlights at EXACTLY FUCKING EYE LEVEL with every other driver on the road that's not also in a truck.

That windshield wiper kills it for me. It would drive me crazy not having the passenger side cleared up as well.

I doubt you’ll see this but… if you do the same kind of turning radius comparisons in the future, it might be easier to compare if you draw the path of each vehicle in different colors. Just a thought! Thanks!

MKHD, thank you for your review of the Cybertruck at this point. It was most informational, and it will be interesting to see the continued development of this truck in the future. As the world moves further into electric vehicles, I also believe it will be more important that the automotive industry look at its pricing and the ability of the average person to invest in future vehicles of this type. The Cybertruck would not be my first choice and I have enjoyed driving the Ford F150. I must say I still love my gas power and the ability of myself being able to get under the hood and work on my vehicles but the future of automotive is changing daily and its most important people get a full understanding of what they are getting ready to invest their money and you do an excellent job of pointing this out. Measure the distance from the bottom of your feet while sitting in your normal driving position to the front bumper. Then sit on your couch with a ruler on the floor the same distance from your feet infront of you for a few hours. This will quickly get you over the fact tht you can not see any of the front of the truck from inside quickly. This will also give you a mental visual as to how close you can be to something while turning. Hope this helps.

I'm very curious to see how this car handles brutal winter weather. If your rear view relies on a camera, what happens when it’s covered in salty road spray? What happens if the rolling bed cover is caked in ice and you need to open it? Is the massive wiper blade heated?

So... the first thing that came to mind when you looked at how sharp those edges are on it... Being made of stainless steel, if you accidently hit someone, even going relatively slow, on the corner... That's gonna cause some pretty serious bodily harm compared to a rounded/plastic headlight.... Like, that's sharp enough to just outright split a person open instead of them bouncing off and flying.

As someone who has driven full-sized pickups most of their adult life, I can completely understand the "Where is my nose" concern. We used to just put an antenna with a bright orange tip to indicate, but you can't do that here. I would recommend taking the truck to a parking lot and practice parking using the front-facing camera to help build that muscle memory.

This is the most honest review I’ve seen of the truck. Everyone else has given somewhat glowing reports. Maybe because they don’t want to be shunned from future events. Good for you.

As a person who has done a bit of repair work on older trucks I can assure you no mechanic in existence could ever work on this thing.

Looks exactly like the car that I designed when I was 3 years old.

Regarding the door I don't really personally care about fingerprints but it looks like a good way to smash or even lose a finger if you try to open it on a slope and get a bit careless.

My aunt's BMW X1 (forgot what year) has this speed meter that's only visible to the driver. So the real display is hidden right around the dashboard behind steering wheel. It is projecting the numbers vertically up and then being reflected ninety degrees on the windshield straight into the driver's eyes. Really cool stuff. I am more shock that Tesla didn't do something like this with their speed display.

I wasn’t feeling the shape and design of the cyber truck at first but now I feel like I’m totally digging it. I think it just took time to adjust, but now I really do love it! Excited to see all upcoming mods! 🎉

We are a 6 figure income couple and had very little saved and not much cash lying around the preverbal". '...don't have $500 for an emergency" that was us. The big thing was debt all kinds of it, cars mortgage (although our home isn't a high price one), student loans for our kids, and of course credit cards. One day we just got sick of being broke and went total scorched earth and became frugal overnight. Paid it all off, it took almost 5 years but now we have no debt and this year our savings rate is 50% on basically the same income that had us perpetually broke. So for us it is mainly staying out of debt and watching our spending, at first it was a real effort to save in our HISA and 401Ks but now it's actually fun watching our money grow. No car or vacation or neighborhood is worth being broke or financially unstable.

But I think this truck would look amazing in shiny black, specially at night.

18:15 Insurance companies are going to love this windscreen. Every buyer is practically forced to get glass insurance because replacing that glass out of your own wallet is going to hurt a lot!

I agree I think they need a rubber pad down on the door so you don’t get finger prints or whatever on the truck maybe one at the top corner as well. But hopefully they could make it where you can change it out pretty easily or upgrade it to your personal style .

Great review. Definitely on the dream list vehicles. I wish I heard a bit more of how it compares to rivian or the lightning though since that's probably the best comparison for most people looking for this kind of vehicle.

My wife saw a cyber truck on the highway yesterday and told me about it - mind you, she’d never heard of cyber truck and described it to me as “a homemade vehicle”. Your video was very helpful in getting her to see this is a legit vehicle that was not cobbled together in someone’s garage. That said, she is in the “this is the ugliest vehicle ever” camp.

Not addressing safety concerns is negligent at best and actively malicious at worst.

The fact that Marques isn't going nuts over this thing and actually giving us a balanced review of the vehicle, with some pros and some cons. That's a pro. I know other car/tech-reviewers that are gonna be simping like hell over this thing (finding no flaws) and then F150-ganggangers that are gonna hate on it for no reason.

I just saw one in DC two days ago, I was pretty excited to see one in the wild!

Also concerned about that door opening in the winter. My Model 3 freezes shut in the winter all the time and it actually has a handle 😅

One thing that no one seems to notice is the limited access to the front of the bed. Because of the shape of the back, the height of the sides at the front of the bed is nearly shoulder height (Marques seems pretty tall), so there is no way to reach over the side and into the bed. Since there doesn't seem to be any step at the side, the only way to access the front of the bed is from the back. Say you put something in the bed at the back and it slides to the front during driving, You'd have to open the tailgate and climb into the bed to retrieve it. This makes me question the CT's practicality as a real day to day work truck

Watching "the back seat trick" had me rollin. Trucks have always had foldable rear seats

No door handles and the fact u have to put your fingers in the door just seem like a great way to break your fingers if you get bumped into or something. Frozen door is a good point too

In your full review I think it would be critical to discuss how safe it is, both as a driver as well as people outside the vehicle. To me, this is one of the most important features of a car, because of how dangerous driving is, especially for people being hit by cars

The thing I think is a missed opportunity with the large windshield is an HUD where they could have put the speedometer and a simplified navigation picture.

If you want to use stainless steel on a truck you should do the frame, rocker panels, cab corners and wheel wells. Not that this is a "real truck" but it would be nice to see on a Chevy or something
