Here's a video I pieced together from my bullet-cam and handy cam after I spent an enjoyable couple of hours at Jaguar's Nürburgring Test Centre. I drove the XJ with the Supersport pack both on the street and on the track. Lots of fun!
Yes, and Jaguar since the '70s. That's why there's a big test centre in the movie, because Jaguar actually have a base out here. It was just the first time I was invited to drive a Jag :)
Welp…. This video answered my questions about making a xjl track car… Even though I already knew… cornering gets a bit tricky… Especially when the back wants to meet the front mid turn….
The XF isn't heavier than the XJ. The XJ is far bigger and loaded far more but the aluminium body offests some of that. Aluminium isn't all it's cracked up to be. The stiffness to weight ratio is about the same as that of steel and is mainly only useful in large, hollow sections where a high moment of area can be achieved.
