Imagine some of these riders telling stories over the years: "So there I am at the Ring going flat out, at the edge of traction and sanity when this guy comes past me like I was in reverse! I tell you, fellas, I've never seen anything like it to this day!"
I've driven the course many times in games, so I know the layout, but that doesn't give me any confidence. If anything, it intimidates me more. I wouldn't want my first lap(s) to be without an instructor. Then again, I'm not in my carefree 20's anymore either, when I didn't have sense and didn't know how to drive.
Welp…. This video answered my questions about making a xjl track car… Even though I already knew… cornering gets a bit tricky… Especially when the back wants to meet the front mid turn….
A true thank you to the work put by the involved in spec'ing/building/setting up the car. Driven it last weekend, going back again the next weekend TF days for a few times in a row. Wonderfully setup. First, so much more confidence coming from the car as a whole (perhaps a lot on the Ohlins TTXs), compared to the 125i. You can take the right kurbs at Wiperman without a single concern for instance. Second, balance as always, that's why I come to the particular rental company. Orgasmic when you are having 4 wheel slides on the limit. Extremely balanced, rotates so easily on demand, it is on point. Third, the grip levels are absurd, wow. This is a freaking fast car, running sub8s on the middle of TF traffic. A lot to get used to the lateral accelerations on the fast sections like Pflanzgarten<->Stefan-Bellof-S. Hard to imagine much faster cars on curves w/o aero. Forth, I typically do ESP off but started on Sport on Marc's advice. It is inherently a low-polar-moment of inertia, agile, neutral-balanced, very fast car, so there is no magic: you really have to be thoughtful on your inputs. With the new Fuchsröhre easy to get oversteer on the top left hand. Overall, it gets you sweating and a beautiful way to enjoy the NBR with some good challenge. Btw, we've met ~10 yrs ago where you were certain I was messing up with the Swift's ABS's, which I was not, haha (because of what you saw on the approaches to the Karrousel). I'm putting in another 300-400 rental laps this season on weekends now targeting RWDs, the Supra asks for a premium I didn't want to spend, but hard to say no after driving it. It's whats gonna keep me loyal there at least a few more rentals. Tks again, cheers!
I never have my camera at the level you have it, near enough in between your eyes. Going at that speed is quite dangerous with that as a distraction. You don't as well have to necessarily use a helmet, so therefore use a GoPro Headmount, it's so much easier.
Damn how did you get the small license plate on front end. Are you us solider? For us civilians it is almost (if not) impossible to get a small size license plate.
Hi Dale, Iḿ considering buying a black Daytona 1200 from 1994. Over the (many) years I've had a Yamaha XS1100s and XJR1200sp, big 4 inline engines. I sold my XJR1200sp last year and now I'm looking for a bike with a full fairing. I love the looks, it being made in England but can you make long rides on it?
@blabla_9826, how much power do you have "exactly"? We all know, that the EA113 is good for easy 360+ PS without touching the engine inside. For more traction it's recommended to reduce the front stabilisator to 18mm and increase negative camber not more than 2,5°. Then you don't need wider tires! 😁
It's a 5.2 liter - OR a 317.3 Cubic inch Super Charged GOAT - imho. - With very little money and effort, you can make these damn near unbeatable, street - strip - Or, as in this case, the twisties. - I absolutely LOVE my 21 SHELBY. - (Because? BIG girls, try harder) - I did: Long tube stainless headers into high flow cats - dumped into an x-pipe then to complete, straight back with 3 inch stainless. - smaller pully, ODIN Super charger, JLT cold air, throttle body, and a VMP Tune. - making 812 whp. FORD - all the way. - 😎
Mid engine in hell - a man must know his limits said the the other cowboy! Loved this video for the memories it brings back when grip goes the other way!
Stop the hate people! In 2020 if THIS GT500 WAS A PORSCHE, it would be the 3rd fastest Porsche! Around a track AND straight line. 3rd fastest Porsche of all time not just that year, let that sink in
