Driving the Las Vegas Strip for a Panasonic Camcorder Showdown! WXF1 vs VX870K. 

In 4K, the VX870K can do 25fps, and if I'm not mistaken, it was recorded that way, then edited in 24fps, which isn't noticable.

You are correct! The WFX1 is the right side view. And for the reasons you mentioned with better control over the highlights, I returned the WFX1 and kept the VX870K.

@@Ahm-Creative I own the European VXF1 (which lacks the tiny camera on the edge of the display) and a Sony FDR-AX53. The Sony blows the Panasonic out of the water in almost every single way, not that the Panny is terrible.

@@emilholmgrenmusic oh wow, that's awesome. I'm new to camcorders, as photography is my trade, but I started with a popular entry level Sony, which led me to the Panasonic, which I use for 95% of my car audio videos, but I also have a Canon G50, and love everything about it.

Thanks so much! No, there really wasn't much of a difference. To place it in my car, I just put a towel on my dash (no VR supports or anything), and sat the camera there. I just made sure to accelerate, stop and turn as smoothly as I possibly could.

Really glad you enjoyed the video, but unfortunately I returned these WXF and kept the VX870K because it gave me a bit more manual control. Now, I have the VX870K and Canon G50, with the G50 being my main camera.

@@Ahm-Creative Thanks Ahmed, but what are the extra controls that the VX870 has over the WXF?

@@annieorphananie4946 I have since returned the WXF, but if I'm not mistaken, the VX870 gives you full manual controls over the aperture, focus and shutter speed, while the WFX has auto focus features. And I got better picture quality from the 870. Not by a lot, but enough to notice in favor of the 870.

I usually do, but I did this one specifically as a blind test to see if you'd notice. In this video, the VX870K was on the right.

No worries about commenting. I appreciate your insight ;-) As for bokeh, as I've seen on another video or two...and I somewhat agree...bokeh is being so overused to the point where it seems fad like. Kinda like so many folks buying DSLR's for video, and becoming "Pro's" all of a sudden. Not saying I'm a Pro because I prefer camcorders, but I like my products for their original intent, and not as hybrid camera/camcorders. Plus, the lack of bokeh doesn't bother me so much. I get a LITTLE LITTLE bit of it in my videos, but that is not my goal, plus ultimately I do plan on doing actual short films (filminutes) and I want to do them with an actual video camera, and not a hybrid dslr. Maybe my opinion will change, but even when I had Nikon's first hybrid DSLR (D90), I think I used the video camera portion once.

Good eye! The WXF1 is on the right. I thought it looked a bit better too, but I returned it and kept the 870K because it has better manual controls.

I thought the Sony blew out a few highlights, but overall, it did pretty good considering the cost and that it's not a 4K camera.

The WXF1 was on the right, both day and night. Is that what you guessed?
