Marietta Pizza Company used to be a 2-story building, with Atherton Drugs on the bottom, and the office of Dr Means, on top. The building blew up in October of 1963, from a gas leak; and several people died, and many people were seriously injured, many via flying glass from Atherton Drug Store. A police officer lost one of his legs. It was a very sad day in Marietta, Ga.
Thanks for viewing, everyone! More recent history would be that scenes from the Ben Stiller movie "The Watch" and the upcoming "Dumb and Dumber" sequel were filmed on the Square. Is Marietta boring? By design. It's supposed to be a quiet suburb to raise kids in. And yes, there are excellent "driving videos" of cities all over the country. I don't get to travel as much as I'd like, but I just dial up a driving video of Boston or L.A. and feel like I'm there.
These are a lot of fun. I forgot I had commented on this one before. You do them really well with the commentary. I didn't know about the Paul Newman trivia.
