Filling the tank with 350bar hydrogen actually gives more than ½ a tank, it actually gives you about 59.4% of a tank. Doubling the pressure in a container of any gas doesn't give you double the amount of gas by mass. The relationship is a good approximation at low pressures but when you get into hundreds of bar the relationship between pressure and quantity of gas becomes non-linear, but will be different for different gases. Increasing the pressure of hydrogen in a tank at room temperature from 350 bar to 4x higher, 1400 bar, will only put about 2.6x more hydrogen in the tank. Also, I'm not surprised the Mirai drives like an electric vehicle because fundamentally it is an electric vehicle, the only real difference between it and a normal EV is that you are generating the electricity in the car, not very efficiently from an expensive fuel, rather than just pumping cheap(ish) electricity directly into a battery.
It's a no from me. I can't see owners enthusiasts clubs for these in the future or guys like you getting many followers on RU-vid in twenty years restoring and maintaining them.
correct, you're right, its all about being green and all that bull crap, electric cars battery production is million times worse for the environment than petrol or diesel cars, electric cars are scams because when it comes to replace the batteries on a electric car, the cost to replace the batteries is almost the same price as the whole car and instead is cheaper to buy a new electric car, and forget working on the electric car and replacing the batteries at an independent garage, only dealers are limited to replacing batteries so dealers lock the price at astronomical high prices so people are forced to use the dealer to replace the batteries, and i know car manufacturers are limiting the production new 2024 petrol cars and only make a special edition amg or hybrid at such high price, these manufacturer tactics are a trick which they partner with the government to force us to go green, but i will never buy a hybrid or electric or hydrogen vehicle i promise you that
