@@lisaclay8206 those boats is what cuased most of the damages. Less boats less damages even if it is a Marina. They use to have docking poles back in the days which kept the boats secure without coming on land. But they eliminated them so the docks would look cleaner and for more boats. Anchoring a boat is useless in a storm. Most of those boats are used only 3 or 4 times a year anyway.

@@tonyantony8272 OK, my apologies. I was thinking more about the people who make a living on boats. For example, charter boats and that whole fleet of shrimp boats that got destroyed. Lmao I don't have enough money to comprehend buying something that expensive and only using it a couple times. 🙃

@@lisaclay8206 that's what insurance and fema are for to restore the poor hard working boats. Homes and cars. All the material things ppl value in life. You have your beliefs and I have mine. This pros & cons can go on for days. But the important thing is that it's time to clean up the mess and move on. We were hit bad here as well our "Marinas" were underwater and our fishermen are out of work as well. But some not as fortunate which is more important. The lives that were lost are more important than anything else because they can't get replaced. Have a good day. Ms. Clay

I guess I didn't do a good job in telling you that you made me understand a different point of view about the boats that are only used a couple times and I agree. My husband mates on charter boats on the side and we take our boat offshore. (Not nearly as big as those) Working boats. I do wish the best for you and everyone impacted. Mandatory evacuation of people. They had days and days to leave to stay alive. Those boats are not as important and it's obviously not as easy as you think to just "move" a boat somewhere. If it was that easy then the boats would be gone. Most have insurance and the same with cars and homes.
