I don’t like how it could be easily removed by a thief. At least with the X1, it's hidden inside the dash. But this makes it easier to identify if a car has an alarm system. A dash cam and a security system should be two separate devices.
Just ask for them to hardwire the dash cam separately from your existing X1. The only minor inconvenience is that you have to have 2 separate subscriptions. One for the X1 and one for the dash cam itself, but I only have the live stream service for the cam and it’s only $7 a month, plus I have the Premium Plus for $20, so $27 a month total. And in the Drone app you have to add the dashcam as its own vehicle, even though they are in the same vehicle. I named the “2 vehicles” as Dashcam and Compustar. So if I want to live stream the cameras I just click the Dashcam and livestream. For GPS and everything else I just click Compustar all in the same app. That way even if they rip out your camera you still have your X1 doing all the security work. Sorry for the long response, and idk if it even made sense… too lazy to reread what I just wrote 🤣
@@nandycanela6061yeah, they should have just added a feature to disable the camera from doing all the Drone stuff and just act as a camera if you already have a X1 lol Would have made everyone’s life easier but oh well 🤷🏻♂️
@@drewcee7226 But if you already have the X1, you probably have the security system setup so even if someone gets in your car and rips out the cam to disable GPS they won't be able to start the car! Unless you have a real threat of your car getting broken into, cam ripped out and then stolen via flatbed/towtruck, the concerns about replacing the old X1 drone with the cam are way overblown imo. While you can hardwire the cam separately, running that and the drone will be a real drain on your battery if you aren't driving at least almost every other day.
If a customer already has a dronmobile subscription for their vehicle, do you need another subscription for the camera separately or does that tap into the vehicles subscription?
The Drone XC Camera would replace the existing drone hardware in that situation. The subscription would need transferred/upgraded. The Camera has a Drone built in 👍
In the video the guy says interior or rear view camera either or but the fine print in the video says it supports two video channels so what one is it? And I don’t understand why it wouldn’t have interior and rear plug? Do you guys have plans to make this an option in the future? If you can run two cameras off one input do you guys make a special adapter?
In that case, you would replace the existing X1 with the Drone XC, since they would occupy the same data port. The subscriptions are transferrable, so the customer could contact us to get the service transferred from the old X1 to the XC.
