For me, this is the most motivating song of all time. If ever feeling down or powerless, i know for sure what to listen to gather strength and get inspired. :-)
Great song. Not sure why the morons gave this song and/or video a negative comment or dislike. The Drop Kick Murphys sound great and just keep getting better and tighter after all these years. They're aging like a fine wine! Thumbs up to the DKM! For you dislike folks go see them live and then tell us you don't like it! I would almost bet the dislikes were Yankee fans!
i love tin whistle in there. i play as well cept i play more traditional, although i love playing the lute part of Shipping off to Boston, and the opening of state of Massachusetts
@Cbumskee I think the two intercut story lines are Al & Ken as motivational speakers at a team building workshop and the life story of one of the attendees (kid/guy with scally cap). It takes a couple views and makes you think... Pretty brilliant, actually.
@bx0fshrp0bjects I know its an official weapon of Boston. Ive used it many times during my school years there. Im just surprised it has taken this long for them to put it in their videos
I like this song, but would love to hear them do a remix that was heavier. The lyrics and percussion would lend to this song being done in a much heavier way.
They have a thing with snowballs with this record. So far 2 music videos both with snowballs getting thrown at people. I say that they are on to something. Start throwing snowballs instead of using other things.
This song had to grow on me, at first i hated it cos its way more 'pop' than their last albums fast raw punk song. but really, this song is great to dance to!
@Renaud596 you make a good point, profane language is not the best way to get a point across. I should heed my own advice actually, I usually don't pull that kinda shit. Rough week bub, apologies for that.
If you think all soldiers are sociopaths, convicts, homeless or wife beaters, my grandpa would like to have a chat with you laddie. Or actually he'd like to box your ears for ya. Served in WWII and in later peacekeeping efforts with Canadian troops up until the late seventies. Has a happy life, wife of now nigh on sixty-two years, and thinks the world of her. Puts his family above himself all the time, and would be more likely to get hit by a flying train than to hit any of us.
@TheWyojeeper they didn't have Barney in Scotland when i was a kid. Don't call me a tough guy, you're the one that started this. I'm not here to argue, but one arguing tip for the next "Internet tough-guy" you decide needs to be harassed; putting profanity all over in your argument doesn't make it any more forceful. Have a nice life
