A little History. Valdez has gone through a lot in its lifetime. The town is completely rebuilt from the 1964 Good Friday earthquake. That earthquake washed away the waterfront of Valdez and destroyed the town completely. It was rebuilt 4 miles away from the original site as they figured out they had built the town on unstable ground. I would suggest checking out the history as its pretty interesting and extensive, going back to Captain Cook in the 1700s

Valdez reminds me of the oil tanker Exxon Valdez that in 1989 ran aground on a reef off the coast of Alaska and leaked 11 million gallons of oil into the sea

Can't wait for video of Denali and the artic circle! Regarding the high post things, they do that to help plows in mountain passes like Rocky Mountain and the drivable 14ers in Colorado! But yeah, comparing this video to the last one reminded me of driving through the Eisenhower Tunnel back in March: Nice and sunny in the west, literal blizzard in the east!

Hey dave I was in Cardiff in Wales for 5 nights last week my holy pilgrimage to see manic street preachers play 2 nights in the castle I just went with the flow no plans for after the gigs I had the best time of my life I had my very own.u a p cosmic experience and met some lovely people this weekend from Thursday to Wednesday I'm in margate England to see manics then I went with the flow no plans it's the best way to do things it's how I.do it too ❤ take care bro

Dave...you should go over the continental divide out in Colorado. 82 in Colarado south of Leadville into Aspen...it's insane....or reverse...from Aspen over the other side...I've made that trip 3 times its so good.

Make your own snow shoes. Get some pine tree branches and tie them together. Now that is fun. I was on a caribbean cruise last week missing winter with it so dang hot and humid. Plus, you just get the natural beauty where I get all the duty free scammers price gouging the heck out of crap, then giving a small portion of the gouge out as the fantastic deal. Only overpay by 30% instead of 70%, what a steal!

It may have been a $800 beater when you bought it but you could probably sell that car for $5000 in Anchorage or Fairbanks. And then you probably couldn't buy a $5000 car in Alaska that would get you back to the States! Crazy times we're living in.

Funny, I used to live just south of Buffalo in the real snow belt there and when you asked have you ever seen snow this high I was just about the answer yes I have right outside my door. Then you said "yes you know Buffalo" as if you were reading my mind, it was so wild. Hey to be fair I've also lived in western Montana where I've seen snow twice as high as that! lol

It is easy to see that you are getting very close to the focus now🎉

You might like to drive the mountains of OR. Just find your way to 101 south into OR. Then continue south, it'll take some distance, into and through Newport. Take a left onto 20 and just drive for a little while - at least an hour. That crunchwrap looks just like Taco Bell's, only thicker and smaller around.
