Nathan is an incredible drummer and his work in singularity is just as amazing as his work in arkaik. Nothing but love and respect for Mr. Bigelow. One of the sweetest dudes you'll ever meet and a total monster behind the kit.
Never heard of this guy, glad I clicked the vid! He's got a really creative approach to writing and clearly all the facilities of a great modern metal drummer. Awesome!
He is too good. I highly suggest checking out his other playthroughs! Especially his other band Singularity! If you enjoyed that, you'll defs like Singularity
To your comment about metal guys seeming like nice guys, in the 13 years I played drums for a thrash metal band I found scary metal people to be the biggest sweethearts around. This guy is an awesome drummer! Another great video, Andrew. Cheers!
Andrew, Arkaik is on the same label as Inferi (The Artisan Era). You have reacted to a couple of playthroughs of their drummer Spencer Moore. I am a huge fan of technical death metal and I greatly appreciate what you do. Even people who don't buy the albums or go to the shows get to realize the talent and experience the art these virtuosos consistently create.
Fantastic! More please. Gotta say watching your face was as much fun as watching Nathan perform. Some serious eyebrow contortion, head shaking and grinning going on...
Andrew, you're the best! Sorry for the length of the post here. When people say that all metal sounds the same or "he's just blasting" there's usually WAY more to it than that. You always pick up on this. It's appreciated for sure. Outside of the tom fills everyone can hear, guys like Nathan are putting the work into orchestration, bell and bow work on their cymbals, cymbal chokes, etc. Ghost notes! It's just really a shame when great playing gets brick-walled with modern production. That's not happening as much here, but it's a problem in modern metal. It's why I love the drum play throughs so we can actually see the amazing ideas I could never pull off! Nathan, went straight to Bandcamp and put you guys in my wishlist.
Man, I remember when double strokes with the feet was only performed by a small number of players. Now not only is every metal drummer these days doing it, they're all making it look as easy and as basic as your beginning snare rudiments. Haha amazing! And this dude almost has jazz/fusion type chops!
Great drummer! Fun fact: Alex Bent, the current Trivium drummer, used to play in this band. There's an insane live video on YT. Go check it out if you can :)
Loved it. That's the type of music I love, very technical stuff. I have to check out their music. Great reaction, I've never heard of this drummer but damn I'm impressed. Oh I did I checked their album out, damn its mixed for the drummer. Its awesome!
Hello from New England Andrew...Great vid...ur right there were so many well executed ideas and some of those fills and blasts reminded me of the G O.A.T. MARIO DUPLANTIER...This guy's got more chops than a butcher shop...lol...Peace from the Northeast...
This was a nice selection from a band/drummer I honestly have never heard of til now and I REALLY enjoyed it! The way he just fluidly flowed around his kit was extremely amazing and professional! I'd love for you to look into some of Charlie Engen's work! He's the drummer for Five Finger Death Punch but he's got a plethora of videos up on his channel of grooves and such that he's come up with & he's pretty much shredding it up on a lot of them. There's also some play throughs of some FFDP songs. As always, awesome video! 🤘🏼🥁🤘🏼
