Dude, I know exactly how you feel! It’s almost a sense of helplessness and a lot of WTF! How is Zeppelin so good?! I’m a musician too and have been lucky enough to tour the world numerous times for playing my guitar, which I would’ve been doing anyway! lol I obviously stole a ton from Page too. I love The Beatles too, but they never rocked like Led Zep. Zeppelin was the perfect storm at the perfect time. It will never happen again with that type of intensity and ingenuity. What I mean by it, is that Rock n’ roll was still pretty new at the time at only approximately 20 yrs old, and was still being invented. I could go on and on and on... Great vid, man! Thanks!

I'm not a musician. In fact I'm a techie with no artistic talent whatsoever, unless one considers the artistic aspect in creating computer code. LOL! That being said and from very early on there was something at a deep, organic or cellular level that spoke to me of the greatness of the band. It blows the mind, fills the heart and frees the soul to soar to amazing heights! The other band that speaks to the depths of my being is Rush. Another absolutely electric band. Before I moved to what was once my vacation property I had a four hour drive I'd do several times each summer. The entire journey, both ways, was filled with Zeppelin and Rush CDs. Driving through the mountains with that music permeated every fiber of my being and melted away all the worries and weariness the world could throw my way. :-)
@NickP333
@NickP333 4 года назад
I would absolutely consider you an artist. Wether you’re creating music, designing a blueprint, or creating computer code, you are still creating. I consider that to be an artist; one who creates. From what I wrote, it’s obvious that we both get the same feeling from bands such as Zeppelin, Rush, Beatles, etc. They touch our souls. I bet those some of those drives were over before you expected by getting lost in such beautiful scenery while listening to such beautiful music that penetrated every cell in your body. You certainly don’t have to be a musician for music to touch you in a deep and meaningful way. Have a great rest of your week, and I hope you get a chance to get little breaks via the magic of music throughout! - Nick

@@NickP333 I work from home now and often have some music or other playing in the background. Well, unless I'm on a Skype conference call. LOL! I also love solo pianists. Note to self: Add more solo pianists to playlist! And yes, driving through the Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York is very scenic. This past weekend I loaded up my kayak and fishing gear and took a two hour drive to a remote pond, passing through Lake Placid. Leaf Peepers were out in force! Sending Good Vibrations your way! :-)

I remember when I was kid and my school mates wanted to form a band, we were hard into rock and Led Zeppelin was already a legend and we listened like bees to a field of blossoming flowers to every song they made. It was great but the years passed and the band broke up to dreams that never were. I drifted away from rock and ole Zeppelin but I started hearing a song here and song there from poking around into the old newsgroups full of FLAC audio and I remembered why I loved them. It's like I'm reconnecting and re-experiencing why I loved them in the first place. So unique and so talented.

I remember that weekend (Martha Quunn) I recorded the SRS on VHS, and wore it out. This tune didn't even make the cut. I coun't the foot as 16th note trips. Anyway, Bonham truly had it all. Everything about all things drums changed once Bonham hit the scene. Kits, cymbals, etc..I wish there was 30 second footage of just his R foot. They groove so hard, it's almost impossible to tell when they're in odd times. They never played the same song the same way twice (including drum solo). These guy read each other's minds. I can go on forever. Bonham is no question the most influential drummer of all time! Glad you posted this vid!

Hey, couple suggestions for ya, one would be the wincent drumsticks drum cam video of Meshuggah playing "bleed", the other would be Gojira playing "The Art of Dying" live in Vieilles Charrues 2010 Love the videos, you've definitely gotten a new subscriber today. Cheers!

This was one of the tightest bands together in the industry. You are probably right, WAY too much power in a great band (and their manager). Thanks for covering Bonham.

I quite enjoyed t this! Bonham played thirty second notes on one bass drum, where it takes most other drummers two bass drums to do it!

On odd time signatures: I think someone said of Rush's Limelight that you just don't notice that it's going through all the time signature changes because it flows so well as a song. They probably didn't think "hey, let's switch between 3/4 and 4/4 with some 2/2 thrown in too" while writing it.

i do think they are the greatest rock and roll band of all time , and iam born 1995 listen to a lot of heavy metal music in my high school and early college years, iam amazed how led zeppelin influences a lot of those bands in particular john bonham

I know nothing about drumming, but I would think Bonham's playing on "Fool In The Rain" is amazing.
