Where did you get the tool the guy is using around the 50 second mark where his is pulling / compacting the mud ?

What is the benefit to a more dry pack? Also, what is the ractio of Sand to cement ? Thanks a lot

The benefit is a perfectly flat floor to set on, it also allows slope to a drain if there is one. The mix is 4sand to 1cement. The amount of water you mix it with is key.

Perhaps it’s called bump cutting. Final cut. If you have a better way. Elaborate. The field is yours.
