When you mention the avoidance of sucking motion, does that apply to heavy breathing? I was also curious to know what my risks are being that I am not a smoker but at 25 years of age going into the procedure for impacted teeth.
ITS A 20 ON PAIN CHART...I FELL DOWN A SET OF STAIRS IN 2012/BROKE MY PELVIS.....WAS IN A BODY CAST FOR 6 MONTHS... MY POINT IS MY DRY SOCKET HURT WAY WORSE.
I'm 19, every time I swallow my I'm terrified that the blood clot will loosen. It's my 3rd day and I've decided not to eat but I'm trying to drink water but it's scary.
i dont smoke and i never have so that eases me, but i am just a few months from 50 so i am certainly an adult and now im paranoid. just had it pulled yesterday and it is very difficult to not rinse and brush and floss. the spot where the tooth was is only mildly sore but man my jaw is tender from being shoved and yanked around. they pull it then hand me a piece of paper with to read when i get home and send me on my way. the first thing i do when i get home is go to the bathroom to take the gauze out and see if i need to replace it my mouth is full of blood so i rinse the crap out of it and replace the gauze then sit down to read the piece of paper, first thing it says do not rinse your mouth out DOH!!!
I got my wisdom teeth taken out for my bottom teeth. My teeth were pointed towards my other teeth and they hard to surgically remove them cutting my gums and all. I’m 23 just for your information.
I’m Having all 4 taken out under anesthesia July 7. All fairly badly Impacted. One is up in my sinsues. One is on a nerve. Etc. So because I’m 35 I have a higher risk for dry socket ? I’m already totally terrified for this. I’ve starting getting panic attacks. And I’ve got 2 small children to take care of
@@societyrapid1743 oh my - I’m so sorry to hear this :/ I hope you can feel better soon- did your dr/ dentist prescribe you something ?? I sure hope so- my mom had a tooth pulled a few months ago- she bled a lot for 3? Days
@@heatherrowe4591 I’m on my 2nd day and I want to smoke weed and my vape so bad lol it hasn’t been a full 48 but my antibiotics make me feel really I’ll they told me to take Tylenol I need some damn painkillers this is the worse pain I’ve ever been in almost as bad as when I got my tonsils out when I was 17 I’m currently 20 now and my wife has been doing everything for me and I have another tooth the other muller that probably needs pulled but atleast I can’t get that taken care of sooner then later cuh this abcess is the worse thing ever I’m 5’7 wrestled my whole life i weight 144 I’m very cut and lean but the left side of my neck I look 200 pounds
Most videos and graphs show a lower molar extraction site, but if the extraction site is on the upper side, then the blood clot will fall off, unless one will not eat or drink for days.
Had my tooth removed 3 days ago it was a a hard extraction the dentist could not pull the tooth out he cracked my tooth it broke off at the gum line then he picked at the roots to take them out my gum was a mess i am in so much pain hope it is not Dry socket
I wish my dentist would have been more proactive in explaining like this guy did. no smoking and no straws are not a good enough explanation. I ended up with dry socket and I'm so much pain, every 4 hours like clockwork it starts throbbing. taking so much ibuprofen is messing with my ulcer 😭
I just got one of my teeth out i had to smoke a cigarette through my nose thats ok right? Well atleast wont get me dry socket? Dentist said dny smoke for 5 days but the paper says dont smoke for 24hrs
I went to the dentist exactly a week after my extractions, so so my follow up exam they ended up getting straight into giving me fillings. I asked is it normal to do fillings this soon, they said as long as you’re able to open you mouth wide. I’m not gonna argue with a professional. So throughout the process it was rough around my extraction sites, lots of suctioning very much near the spots.. I get home and my clot is completely gone, I don’t have much pain.. should I worry about this because it’s been a week?
@@yoeyzee i had some reassurance from my doctor who has had a lot of experience with the group im going to... but im still worried about post op and potential complications. 4 days until consultation and 8 until i get those suckers removed. thanks for the info!
@@demitri9211 I was lucky! Just be careful about what you eat and drink, as long as you don't feel any pain that's a good sign your be okay, don't use straws or spit, the general rule is if you have dislodged your blood socket you will feel pain after three days, use salt in warm water to clean your mouth, never rinse or spit it out though. First week be extra careful, avoiding a dry socket is a must.
@@brianramirez776 I was worried about losing my blood clots. I didn’t though, even after vomiting for a week straight. You will be absolutely fine if you don’t take antibiotics. That’s what f*cked me up the most. Only take if you have an actual infection. The healing process wasn’t too long and if you take pain killers, make sure it’s not on an empty stomach.
I had one of my lower wisdom teeth extracted yesterday. When I got home I rinsed my mouth out with water and also spat blood out not knowing that I was not supposed to. I then read on the internet all about dry sockets and that to avoid these you should not do certain things like rinsing and spitting. I am therefore worried I have a dry socket. I have looked into my mouth using a light and a mirror but am unsure whether the socket is dry or not. I have no pain at all and my breath does not smell. What would you advise?
@@TomF291 i spat after teeth removal and the spit was red and i used a straw and i dont know if i have a dry socket i have mild pain but not to bad ill say its 3/10 rn but i am terrified. What should i do
Smoking after a Wisdom Tooth Extraction: "If it becomes dislodged at any point, it can be very painful and lead to infection. Besides the risk of dry socket, smoking also increases your risk of developing bacteria in your mouth that will attack your gums and weaken your body’s healing ability." Question on the above, In addition to weaken the body's healing ability what other issues can arise? Can this ever be resolved and how?
