Dryer 3 wire vs 4 wire Plug 

You know Tim you are a blessing to me. Back in 1998 when I was taking a PLC class while also taking an Industrial Electrical Class I would have loved to have had RU-vid and had your videos to watch. I honestly wish I would have dived even deeper into the logic side of the industrial electrical industry. I started to but it became too expensive for me to continue the college courses and also work full time. I was traveling probably 60 miles to the university I was attending and it just got to be too much logistically speaking. I so wish I could have continued I just couldn’t afford it at the time. But seriously Thank You for what you do, it really is interesting to a lot of us.

Don’t always drop in on every video, but when I do it feels valued in the information learned or reviewed. Explaining things with both Show and Tell as well demonstrate goes a long way for effective explanations. Happy Thanksgiving Holidays Tim!

One thing you could add to that is that on most cords of that type, one side is ribbed so you can identify it from the plug to the terminations without having to ring it out or go hand over hand. It does not matter much on that cable but when replacing the plug on a lamp cord it is a real time saver. The ribbed side is the neutral wire. Oddly I have found that most electricians I meet don't know this. As always thank you for what you do. You are making the world a better place.

We bought a 3 wire older dryer, our outlet is 4 prong. Can i use an adapter plug?

What do you do with the green wire if you have a three wire dryer? Where does it get hooked into?

Can you put a link in that ul connector? Unfortunately, a lot of things are not widely distributed, and knowledge is not enough.

How bout if you take the green wire out and put in a 3 prong but the stove doesnt have a wire from the neutral connected to the ground like your stove? Can you just connect the 3 wire on to the stove?

Please help I only have the three wires and I connected the white to the neutral, gray neutral round. I got the red and the black on the outside and it dries for 20 minutes and then the whole dryer shuts them but it’s not blowing the fuse it just stops getting hot. What am I doing wrong?

On a four wire you didn't explain where the Green wire goes I'm guessing where you removed the White wire from the outside
