Dryer Stuck With 1 Minute Left - Solved!

Is your dryer stuck with 1 minute left in the cycle and it never completes? In my case, this was due to the resistive heating coil touching the heating box and shorting out the circuit. This is a simply fixed by bending the coil so it is electrically isolated from the rest of the heating box.

I hope this helps my dryer. It already increases and decreases the time several times during the load, but stays stuck on 1 minute left for hours or until I pause it. If I open the paused load, then close and hit start again, just to see what happens, it will run for about two minutes then stop. Also, if I take the dry stuff out and put wet stuff in , it still stops in about two minutes 🤦🏻‍♀️ Thanks for your video

Thanks! This video helped tremendously and helped fix our dryer. The heating element in our dryer was pretty damaged. Replaced it following your exact steps and it works great!

Been doing resale of dryers and washers 14 years and this worked for me I could not get it to test bad or did I see any problems but it must have got hot and it was bad this works wow made my rent 🎉

Thanks for this video. I had the same problem because I changed the dryer element and switches. I didn’t really want to take the drum out to test other components, I knew it had something to do with that area. Thanks.

I literally took apart my mom's today installed a new heating element had 2 extra screws and we had this problem thought it was my fault bc I didn't screw sum in lmao glad it is just thuss

Thanks Christopher, mine was having the same issue and this fixed it. However, afterwards the dryer wasn’t getting hot. I set it back up like it was before (where it was barely touching the panel) and it’s now getting hot again. Do you know why it does this?

you forgot to connect one of the cables, the one attached where the front wheels are. 2 white cables with the socket.

I never replaced the heating element or even opened the dryer. Could this still be the problem. Would the coil move by itself?

Hi Chris! Great video. Question though: my dryer is doing the same thing, except when it gets to one minute it’s stuck on cool down. It cools down, but doesn’t stop tumbling until I press the pause button. I checked the main control board and nothing looked burnt. Before I take it apart, do you think it would be the same solution you just showed?

Model # DV42H5600EP/AC and Serial # 0AEF5BCH300383Z So the dryer starts and goes from 1 hour to 59, 58, and 1 minute and shuts off in total three minutes. 59, 58 the light is on drying and on 1 it goes on cooling and shuts. I cleaned the vent, sensor. Tried getting the code through smartcare, doesn't show any error codes. Please help!!

I have this issue, but I have never removed the heat box or replaced anything. My dryer is only about 13 months old, and this just started happening. I am 70 years old and too sick and feeble to try to take this machine apart. Any suggestions? The dryer works OK on timed dry, and that may end up being my solution.
