Interesting to see that you test how fit the hay is the same way my dad taught me way back in the 1970's in the UK. Get a hand full, pull it out in both hands and twist. We can get away with a couple of green stems and no mould. Looks great hay for young stock
Great ending to the year ! Excited to see those double balers showing up on YT ! Only two brands I’ve been seeing is the JD one and the Paksan from Europe? Are there anymore you’ve had your eyes on?
Hello, I am from Kazakhstan and I would like to learn from your farm. I also grow alfalfa in Kazakhstan. But there are no good farms here to learn from. I wish you good luck.
Can you inter-see alfalfa if you have a sorta bad stand after first seeding. For context we planted a plot into alfalfa during the summer and didn’t get much rain so we never got a cutting off of it, and not this spring we are noticing the stand is a little thin. Could I interseed more alfalfa or is that a bad idea? Located in North central Missouri.
