You posted this a day after my birthday. Also some tips that you might have already learned by now. But just in case you havent, here they are. 1. Silica Gel is reusable 2. You can pour directly over the flower and the higher up you pour the softer it lands on the flower 3. Shake the bin to get in between the petals and into the nooks and crannies. 4. Dry the larger flowers and smaller flowers separately. Larger and more poofy and voluminous flowers take much longer then smaller and flat-er flowers to dry. 5. Try fake flowers to reduce your cost.
@belindamason8286
@belindamason8286 5 лет назад
They all turned out beautiful!!! You’re so lucky to have access so many pretty flowers. I do know some flowers will dry after 1 day while others take 2-3 days. You can also turn your flowers upside down in The silica so they won’t flatten out as much. Or just make a little valley around the flower.

Hi, I use dried floral from my yard, to decorate grape vine items, small chairs, wreathes, baskets, any thing I can find. They end looking like fairy 🧚‍♂️ furniture. Some time include a small gift, hand lotion, cookies etc. what I wanted to tell that I have tried all ways of drying. My go to way is placing flowers in egg carton to preserve shape, and placing in refrigerator. The defrost cycle removes the moisture and dries them. I am happy w results, and they stay pretty for a coupe of years. Try it, nothing ventured nothing gained. They do not fall apart, and cost is minimal.

The flowers are so incredible! I've grown flowers and get flowers sent to me, always the same roses, lilies and carnations. I'm happy to get them. But, wow! the flowers you have to work with are amazing! I've only seen maybe a pic in a magazine. It is really terrific how enthusiastic you are about them. Watching this one video has opened my eyes. This may be a bad thing because, I may have to travel far and pay a lot for some flowers like that. I live in the country and I believe I'll have to travel far to find flower shops that carry something different. Seriously, I love the flowers and I am in awe. The love you show for them mirrors the way I feel just watching the video. You have either broadened my horizons or I'll be going on a long expensive quest! Anyway, beautiful video. And now I must go to watch how it turns out. Thank you!

The bubbles are associated with moisture left in the flower, to the best of my knowledge, they just aren't quite dry enough, if you get the frothing above the flower. The good news is you can usually hide it with a creative top coat, and some sanding!

Nutty Insomniac Nutty Insomniac Hi! I did 3/4 of the course, and then Covid happened. The schools are open here in The Netherlands, so my course resumes at the end of September. To be honest, the things we learn are extremely dated, so a lot of the techniques are not used at the flowershops here. I still love flowers and being creative with them, i just don’t particularly like the course. My exams are in November, so i’m going to power trough. Thanks for asking! 🌼

I found some peonies ripped off by the children of the Croatian family lying at the door. I felt sorry for the flowers yince they are deep pink double filled blossoms. So I got some silica cat litter since it is much cheaper put burried them in it. I got inspired by this as well as the resin pouring video since I want to preserve them and make them a picture for my homepage when starting business. Next thing will be the roses from my garden. Their fragrance is so stunning. I already dried some of them to make a fragrant potpourri. But when drying they loose a lot of their size. So a few are going to go into that silica when the peonies are out.

i don't know if you can get cat litter with silica, but if you do - put silica in a jar and a flower in it, put silica all over and than put it in full effect in a microwave för 60 second and it's all dry! you may put it in for 60 seconds again if it's a thick flower! Perhaps you can put the silica you use in the video in the microwave? A new try out video! 😍

I make keepsakes from dried flowers all the time. Small individual containers are best...you use less silica gel this way. The entire flower should be completely covered with silica gel. I've found the bestway is too work from the outside in, using a small cup to slowly add the silica gel in between each petal as best I can so it will hold its shape and not flatten out. I tried the big container and used like 5 bags!!! Now I use small Tupperware bowls with an airtight lid..and I make sure that I can cover the entire flower. I leave them for 5 days. If you leave then to long they can give the petals a burnt look.

This is only the second of your videos I’ve watched..new sub about to binge watch 😃As a retired florist I had a feeling you worked in the floristry game so when you said that you got the flowers from the florist where you work I jumped up and down in my mind....I knew it...lol....I knew it ! You just send out that vibe..lol...you’re adorable ! You’re so happy , but then flowers do that to you , well maybe not at peak times of the years when we work our butts off !

Can you do a video on painting our dried flowers please? Like, I know how to paint the white flowers but I want to be able to make some of my sunflowers pink.

This is how I did my bridal bouquet. Then I placed them in a shadow box. Love this stuff. You just have to reactivate it from time to time

You're so cute, I love your personality! And your resin art of course. I also love how you show the WHOLE process-- it's like we're learning WITH you! :)

Awesome!!! Love this, they retained so much color! Ok *NEWB QUESTION ALERT* can you do a video about "deep pouring"? I keep hearing that you cant pour large amounts of resin in a deep container all at once but some say it just depends on the resin you use so im curious if you had knowledge of this matter. Cant wait for the preservation video for these flowers!!
