@@RC.Break.Build.Repeat lol i’m hoping mine lasts for awhile if i keep up with oil changes. if it blows i’ll do a big bore kit and blow that up too 😂 but thanks! much better quality to come

You were clearly stretching the bike almost to the maximum and the guy on the sports bike was clearly driving relaxed.. Other than that, nice video.

@@hugopnabais absolutely. the DRZ is at a huge disadvantage on these roads. i’ll definitely have more videos of me actually being competitive in the mountains

Most of the roads you showed could be done at triple digit speeds. Sportbikes have a big advantage here. Actual speeds are tempered by how big a speeding ticket you are willing to pay. Sportbikes have a small advantage from braking marker to corner turn in (dual disks resist fade better than singles). Sportbikes have little advantage up to the apex. Sportbike have a huge advantage firing it out onto the straightaway. Realistically you are only going to go 10 or 20 mph over the posted limit, so in the real world this advantage is limited. A tighter road would be much more competitive. Kudos to the Eric Buell Racing 1190rx owner. The definition of cool.

@@camgere you are exactly right. i had that poor thumper pinned the whole time trying to keep up. on my sport bike i could easily take those corners at 120 but it was fun to try to keep up on a much slower bike. you’re correct on the advantage part as well. i rode in the mountains when i first got the bike and that was a much more even playing field. not as much room for the sport bikes to get into power and pull away. i was able to carry the same speed as them in the corner with less braking and get on the throttle earlier and transition quicker. i could pull away in the corners but they’d catch up in the straights. such a blast to ride

Yep, I often put sports-bikes to shame on my Yamaha XT250. 😅😂

@@AndrewLane-pm2ro proof that it’s the rider not the bike 👌🏼
