Just discovered your channel and loving the DRZ content (another UK DRZ owner ) you certainly owned the traffic lol looking forward to following your journey.
But wait! There’s more!!!! 😜 Thank you for the sub and I’m loving the DRZ400SM so far. Don’t know why it gets talked about so badly. Just took her to a track this weekend 🤘🏼
Thank you 🙏🏼 I’m really happy with the DRZ. And to me, a motorcycle is a motorcycle. Sometimes you have more fun with things wouldn’t expect it. Shit, I know how to have fun on a scooter 😂
damn dropping a bombshell on me lol. 701 to drz! with being very close to weight, i figured the 701 would feel like "a drz on steroids" like many online claim. was considering a jump from a duke 390 to the 701 as an all around bike.
7:14 Would say this is a real thing. Owned a 2012 for just over a year and in the winter it would want a good couple minutes or it could make it to the shop around the corner and then take another couple minutes to start or cut off at first red light when revs sat a moment. Adjusting the idle/fuel air mix helped, draining float bowl etc. But definitely some situations were you just want to be able to hop on and ride out. Bike is in a league of its own when it comes to the class, perfect for people who like to learn and work on their own.
I think a ktm/husky 500 supermoto is where im going. I wanted a drz but i just cant justify the 2000 tech. I already had a dr650, i know theyre crazy capable but that was fifteen years ago!
The DRZ is super fun and bulletproof, but lacks power, same plastics since forever and carbureted. Just keep in mind the Husky/KTM will require more maintenance more frequently. But well worth it 🦾
in europe we unfortunately font get the drz anymore since 2008. the 690 is the only option we have when we want a strret legal sumo thats reliable 😅 you guys are lucky. but fuck 9000 usd out of the door is quite steep though. I paid 9000€ out of the door for my 2020 690 😳
Appreciate the honest pov, carbs are not a big deal unless you get bad gas or let it sit up for long periods. And there's plenty of parts, might even be a lot of DRZ's laying around for parts as well? I hate sensors & crap but I'm only now looking at this bike. Looking at a lot of channels to see what they say.... opinions are like arse-holes, everybody has one ! Thanks again
Suspension Questions? Is this bike the SM or Dual ? And what set of front forks makes it an Enduro Bike setup? I know nothing so are there other front forks that can be swapped out into this bike? That is an important thing before I buy and I'm glad you're talking about it. I hope to learn more...guess I'll be going thru your videos soon? yup, thanks man
The bike is a Supermoto. The main difference in the SM forks and the Enduro forks is the they are upside down on the SM. I believe they may be wider diameter as well. If you want to have two bikes in one, Warp 9 sells kids to most bikes. So you can make dirt wheels for your sm. But then again I’ve only converted my 501 enduro to SM. So I’d recommend calling in and make sure the rotors and calipers with work going SM to Enduro
Ahh, the maint part is one that would get me, I can do oil -n- sH!T but having to deal w/ taking it to the dealer & of course, the price is another thing. But I'm doing my due diligence in researching this. TY much for the vids!
@@HDSupermoto >> so you think the Enduro is like the SM as the Forks go? I didn't know there was an Enduro model & that's my point of asking - can you have the regular bike & then find forks off the SM & do a straight swap out? I'm not planning that but I am curious if I have the regular DRZ if I can swap out forks off 1 of the others, directly? TY for help!
I got my 2021 drz400 sm for $6,600 after taxes and paper work. I got it used off Facebook lol. During that time a new drz was 2k over msrp from the lock downs
Yeah haha the KTM/Husky bikes aren’t QUITE so bad, but the Japanese bikes do generally have them beat in the reliability/ease of maintenance department.
Definitely. I bought a new 2021 DR-Z400SM as my new bike, I think they’re great machines. Next year I’ll put new sprockets and chain on it, jet kit and a new exhaust, and some slightly more off-road capable tires on it. And some saddle bags. Enjoy the Suzuki and ride safe, dude. 👍
I'm about to say screw it and get me one. Been wanting the crf300l or klx300. But everyone saying the drz400 is better if you're wanting something with a little more power and plus there's a stupid high demand on them things and would have to wait 3 to 6 months to even get it! And I can just get the drz and call it a day! I don't mind a carb. Mikuni carb at that..
@@HDSupermoto I’ve been all over the US (and lived/been stationed in many) and all over the world, and I could never live anywhere else. This is it for me 🤷♂️
@@Insaiyanrider it’s tons of fun! I prefer the sumo setup on highways, because it wobbles a lot with the enduro setup. But this bike feels way lighter than the 701 and DRZ400sm and has a ton of power. All I complain is the maintenance, other than that it’s an amazing bike 🤘🏼
@@Insaiyanrider the 501 is 1000 times more powerful than the DRZ, it’s lighter and super fun on and off road. I just have to switch out my wheels and I have the best of both worlds 🦾. The only downside is maintenance is more frequent on the 501. But well worth it!!!
